That's because ADS-B Exchange relies on individual feeders. They were tracking using MLAT, which if you only have a few receivers is very inaccurate. They had enough to show an approximate position but not an accurate position. FR24 uses a different method for tracking, that includes satellite tracking. So they're more accurate.

Some pilots said the object "interfered with their sensors" on the planes...
Some pilots also claimed to have seen no identifiable propulsion on the object, and could not explain how it was staying in the air, despite the object cruising at an altitude of 40,000 feet.
