Who cares about the balloon where's what was hanging under it. Dropping 65,000 feet probably wasn't too good for it but it probably was a pressure vessel so it should be fine. other than the self destruct stuff.

There's no way it was at "65,000 feet" when they shot it. I saw it over western North Carolina Saturday morning. Was glassing it easily with 7x35 binoculars. I can "see" an A320 or a big passenger jet at 40,000 feet with the binoculars. This thing was much clearer and closer
There's no way it was that high up. Maybe 20,000 feet, being generous.
I'll also note: clear crisp cool morning, blue sky, absolutely clear skies. Not a helicoptor, not a P-3 or whatever, no fighter jets flying around it, zero aircraft near it or frankly within 100 miles, for the 90 minutes I was watching it pass by. And nothing on adsb. No contrails, no sounds of jets. Perfectly quiet morning.
Biden said they were "monitoring" it but I don't see how, without any aircraft around.

It's a spy balloon just because our government says it is? And since when should we start trusting anything said by this government at this point.
Maybe, just maybe, it was actually a weather balloon like China said it was, and our government claims it to be a spy balloon just to rile and enrage US, we the people, to hate china all the more and accept any actions they decide appropriate.
When are the masses going to realize, sad to say, that our own government can not be trusted...

These are the current, and probably last photos of the ChiCom Spy balloon, being recovered. The U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group 2,
is photographed off the coast of Myrtle Beach on Feb. 5. The FBI will be taking over the remnants of the Spy Balloon for study. www.huffpost.com...
For a balloon to be large enough to carry a spy platform the size of 3 school buses, there doesn't seem to be enough material here.

This means U.S. brains couldn't learn anything from it?
