Gotcha...maybe something passing over would I have heard them plenty of time growing up near MacDill. They would go out into the gulf and it was always cool to see.

The contrail is large and thick. Not something I would think an aircraft would leave and there is a flash in the sky with the boom so that was why i had discredited the supersonic idea. That trail looks like a large rocket...

or Maybe Destro has finally created a weapon COBRA can use....

It's not China, it's ALIENS!

(Or the start of a false flag anyway).

They will appear over every country this weekend perhaps.

Too much risk to the ground. This isn't going to come down quickly, so there's too much chance that it's going to come down somewhere there are people.

That's the first confirmation that there is one over Canada.

It was from yesterday, hours before the "explosion" over Billings.

If they were lying, then what were people here in KC and then later on in St. Louis seeing in the sky earlier today? It was the top story on the local news sites and there were pictures of the big white orb in the sky.

Colder temperatures at higher altitudes result in thicker trails. Some of the ones over Alaska are insane. You get really cold, like Siberia, and you get contrails at takeoff.

There are missiles in Montana, but they don't launch anything from there, because they are there. There's far too much risk of Russia or China interpreting an innocuous launch as a missile from the missile fields. That's one reason that every time there's a Minuteman test, they move the missile to Vandenberg for the launch.

Three RC-135s in the St Louis area, including one that was refueled by an alert tanker to stay on station, weren't tracking the moon.

According to a Billings spokesperson there was no explosion. They're currently investigating the video. They posted a statement on Facebook that Montana Disaster and Emergency Services had no reports of explosions anywhere in the state, and that the firefighters, police, and airport had no reports of any incidents, or plane crashes.

As soon as it hits the coast shouldn't they take it out then?

www.cnn.com...

Suspected spy balloon could exit the east coast overnight
From CNN's Dave Hennen, Katie Bo Lillis and Oren Liebermann

The suspected Chinese spy balloon could exit the east coast of the United States as early as Saturday morning, based off a NOAA weather model.

The latest projections show a path through Kentucky, Tennessee into North Carolina over the next 24 hours. Going by the last reported CNN known position of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the current projection would show the balloon moving off the coast near the Outer Banks sometime late tonight or Saturday morning.

Two US defense officials also tell CNN that the balloon is expected to reach the East Coast and then pass out to sea in the southeast, near the Carolinas. One of the officials said it could exit the US east coast on Saturday.

The NOAA weather model known as HYSPLIT is used to simulate the dispersion or trajectory of substances dispersed into the atmosphere.

Montana said this was not the weather balloon, it was just swamp gas

They were most likely NOT lying, because the National Weather Service says the China Balloon that was over Montana this morning, is now leaving Missouri and headed to North Carolina, where it will leave our airspace.

We could shoot it down off the North Carolina coast and retrieve the equipment.

IF WE ARE THROUGH talking about the balloon being possibly shot down earlier, can we keep the ongoing discussion in JUST ONE THREAD?

We have confirmed with @MontanaDES & @GovGianforte that there have not been any explosions in, around, or across #Montana. They are aware of the video and it can not be substantiated.

Well, if it IS an enemy balloon, shooting it down would be a great way to release any possible biological warfare agents into the jetstream.

IMHO I think they should wait till it comes down or find a way to get it before it does so.

Shooting it down would destroy much of what you would use to get intel, and its a risk to anything below it

The balloon is nowhere near Montana anymore. And the second one was reported over Canada, although it hasn't been confirmed. There is a second one confirmed over South America however.
I heard something years ago about micro threads being released as chaf. Turned out as a bad idea because the fibers where at atomic levels and possibly started fibromyalgia?

This concept worries me.

Makes one wonder if this could be something as nefarious as that old project?
