I feel the same way. I've been here a while, and lurked even longer.

You get a "feel" for some members posting style, and when I see their avatar, I stop to read what they wrote. Messes me up though when avatars change, as I don't always remember user names.

Except for some reason, people without avatars. There are some long time members, that don't post much at all, that I have to read, and I remember their names.

So yeah, always look for the hidden gems.

Especially you, OP.

I clicked on the thread once I saw the author.

see, you for instance, never disappoint. And this post is a perfect example of the quality you bring to the table. On the surface, sure, it's just a fart joke. But as I explained to my wife the other day, with the help of my 8 year old grandson, in the right context, there is nothing funnier than a juvenile fart joke. tastefully done of course.

And just got back from the vet.

And I'll be dang if some ain't showing up! Makes my day for real. Some, almost assuredly, already know but there's at least one of you that doesn't so far.

I can feel the love and it's appreciated, but this really is about the yous I appreciate. Because: No one was more surprised than me to find out that, for some of us, we really are fambly here. Some disfunction is a given if it's "real" in any way, eh? My cynicism of social media had me previously thinking that a virtual community could only be fake, or maybe superficial is a better word. And much of it is as we know.

But then there's you: I see you ready to give sincere brotherly love & support to the member experiencing life's heavy trauma---the same member you get extra-muddy with in the pit. I haven't yelled for help often, but when I have I felt the love...and got some damn good directions to pursue too which is valuable in my real life. Often enough from a mud buddy. If that's not extended-family I don't know what is.

I had to shorten my paramaters of the you's to make my gimmick work heh, so the above is more expansion of the kinds of folk I'm appreciating here. There's more, but I know y'all get it with your yous too.

And, I'm definitely gonna be replying to some of y'all goofballs & good souls in a bit.

You have some of the most thought-provoking content on ATS (at least in my wheelhouse). I haven't been on ATS as long as most of you folks, but The GUT was one of the first members to point me in the general direction of some very interesting and useful discussions, an excellent way to get involved with ATS. Annnnd....YouSir grabs first reply. Yeah, there is some metaphorical truth there besides being funny as heck. I mean, for one, I have, on imo ahem rare occasion but indubitably, caught myself and/or have been caught talking out of my ass on some minor muddy or the other.

On topic, of course, YouSir. But I suspect you know that. And you really fit that first set of parameters exceptionally well. Maybe a little work on the second set though, eh?
