NBA superstar Stephen Curry, who publicly endorsed Joe Biden for president in 2020, is opposing a "low-income" housing development near his $30 million mansion, according to a local news report.

"We hesitate to add to the 'not in our backyard' (literally) rhetoric, but we wanted to send a note before today's meeting. Safety and privacy for us and our kids continues to be our top priority and one of the biggest reasons we chose Atherton as home," Steph and his wife, Ayesha Curry, wrote in a letter to officials in Atherton.

It was an attempt by Steph Curry, who was the fifth highest-paid athlete in the world last year, according to Forbes, to prevent undesirables from crowding the area around his home in Atherton, California.

Atherton is one of the most exclusive communities in the U.S., with Forbes ranking it as the "most expensive" zip code in the country this year. The Curry family also petitioned the local government to build fencing and shrubbery around their home to protect the family from watchful eyes if they couldn’t block the new families from joining the neighborhood entirely.

"Should that not be sufficient for the state, we ask that the town commits to investing in considerably taller fencing and landscaping to block sight lines onto our family's property."

Council member Rick DeGolia has reportedly said that "it's not possible to build low-income housing in Atherton since land is worth about $8 million per acre."

I just want to take this opportunity to remind Steph Curry of the actual elites, the globalist's plans for the world which are to take from people like him who are low level millionaire nobodies and lower their standard of living in the name of equality worldwide.

www.un.org...

It makes me laugh when I see these "millionaires" assume that they are part of the club when in reality they are the target. What do you think "no poverty" means Steph Curry? Or "reduced inequalities" or "sustainable cities and communities"? It certainly does not mean protected areas where land goes for 8 million an acre to keep undesirables out. In fact those are the exact things the globalists need to snuff out in order to advance their goals. Of course they are going to go after those who have more to take first, people like me have little to take so why would us regular people (non multi-millionaires) be their first target? That doesn't make sense.

So maybe it is a bit of schadenfreude from me but I laughed pretty hard when I read that article. Like how dumb are these people? Just move if you don't like it Steph Curry, it's not like you don't have the money to. And hope that whatever new ritzy area you choose to live in is able to keep what you deem "undesirables" out for longer than the area you're currently in. Which I doubt because we all see the artificial housing crisis going on right now. Gotta make housing cheaper somehow and devaluing wealthy areas and putting up high rise, high capacity low income apartments are one way the globalists are going to do it.

At some point they'll understand that in order to advance these goals, everyone has to live in squalor. If no one understands what wealth is, then everyone can be "wealthy".

Or you'll own nothing and be happy because no one else owns anything either. Without any dichotomy, you simply won't know any better because you won't have any standard to measure by.

Once this sinks in with more high income people will we see a shift from feel good platitudes "equality for all" to a united front against the redistribution of wealth? I think everything has to totally crash and burn before that happens because the delusion is strong.

I'll know a shift has happened when the proposed solutions are more about lifting people up than they are about tearing people down.

When they stop negatively impacting people, then we can talk more, but until then, it's simply about putting the uppity in their place.

I'm wondering if he's actually too poor to move, I mean he also requested that if they were going forward with this plan, he wanted THE TOWN to pay for higher fences and shrubs to protect his property. Seems he can't even afford to build his own fence and wants taxpayers to foot that bill for him. The audacity.

This isn't a whole lot different than the NBA star who was all-in on the rioting that happened in 2020 ... until they came up and were at the gates of *his* exclusive gated community. Then the tone of his tweets sure did change and FAST!

Considering Curry makes 95 million a year, 48 million a year from the NBA and 47 million a year from endorsements. He can build his own damn fence.

Let's get off the stereotype please. Athlete, pro or otherwise, does not necessarily equal stupid.

The land is worth whatever government says it is under Eminent Domain. If the owner doesn't sell it for next to nothing, they can just take it.

Eminent Domain
1. The power of a government to take private property for public use without the owner's consent, provided just compensation is given.
2. The right of a government over the lands within its jurisdiction. Usually invoked to compel land owners to sell their property in preparation for a major construction project such as a freeway.
3. The right of the state to take private property for public use; the Fifth Amendment that was added to the Constitution of the United States requires that just compensation be made

When considering Curry was born in to privilege, this is a very true statement. His dad was an NBA player making millions as well. I’m sure he received a better education than the most of us. Which explains his entitled attitude.

Considering I was and am an athlete and hardly stupid myself, the constant stereotype rankles. It's not like you can either use your body -or- your brains. Some of us can use both fairly well.

If the people of the United States want to have taxpayers pay to have a wall built on the southern border to keep out undesirables is it any different from a rich family wanting taxpayers to build more walls and foliage to keep undesirables out of their community?

Well the border wall is protecting the country from random people whose criminal histories and ability to contribute to society without depending on welfare programs are completely unknown flooding in by the millions. It is for the common good. The Steph Curry wall is protecting one family who is beyond wealthy enough to build their own wall, moat, whatever they want but instead want to piggy back on everybody else. He is not a king and Atherton is not his personal fiefdom.

This has nothing to do with the illegal border crossers who are already by default criminals because they have illegally crossed our border. People who support unlimited immigration should actually do something to make LEGAL immigration cheaper or easier as the US seems to be one of the countries with the LEAST requirements for legal immigrants already. I know other countries limit immigration by making rules that you have to be in a certain occupation in demand in order to be able to immigrate there. Why not in the US?

That’s not true. The top 50% of the population in the US owns ≈ 96% of the wealth:

www.statista.com...

If you somehow instituted pure Communism and redistributed the wealth perfectly equally, the average family wealth would be about $750,000. That’s quite a bit less than I’m used to, but it wouldn’t be “squalor”.

But I don’t personally know anyone who is advocating for pure Communism. I’m certainly not.

The bottom 50% of the population owns about 4% of the wealth. If you could redistribute an additional 4% from the top 50% of the population to the bottom 50% it would double the quality of life for the bottom 50% and the top 50% would hardly notice it, if the redistribution was done proportional to wealth (in other words, the wealthiest would pay proportionately more).

So many "rich" people are going to be surprised when the Communists take over and they get that knock on the door.

And a day later they're sharing the McMansion with a dozen other families. Assuming the Communist officials don't want that McMansion for themselves.
