Senate Votes to Reduce U.S. Dues to U.N.

And in a drastic turn of events:

A drastic shortage of funds is forcing the UN World Food Programme (WFP) to cut the food rations of more than one million people living in the western Sudanese region of Darfur, a senior WFP spokesman, Peter Smerdon, told IRIN on Wednesday.

"We are cutting by half the non-cereal part of the daily ration, starting in May," he said.

Quite frankly Im upset the actions of our goverment have gone unchecked and have become comteptable at the least, I think the US is due for a humility check....we are causing way to much strife for being as imoral as we are as a nation.

I agree that there is a need for an organization something like the UN is supposed to be. But the UN itself is beyond repair.

And what better way to get a new start than in a new home? Maybe in Europe, or the mideast, or Africa...

Sounds reasonable except for a couple of problems
1 It would cost billions to creat a new union....not to mention the billins to discharge the present one and resolve any debts it has.

2 Africa is a no no genocide and christain cleansing make things a little uncomfortable.

The US doesn't need to kill the UN, it killed itself. The US needs to cut off all funding including any external funding in the US. If the US cuts off funding for these crimminals, they will leave. I think the UN should relocate to antartica. Anywhere more cold or desolate like the hearts of these animals in the UN managment.

Note it was Aust and NZ who contributed the bulk of peace keeping forces till other nations took over.

I believe the only viable way forward for the world is some sort of world government, in somesort of EU model. I know there are very many people that would be against something like this but i see it as the only way the earth will ever get beyond the pety bickering between nations that goes on now.

The bickering will continue because the people in influence benifit from war.

As my history teacher said "If in 50 years there is no world government, you can dance on my grave".

Sir or madam I feel you are on track with the way the USA feels. Do not let the others who for some strange reason forgett or have forgotten why they have the freedom they have now to post what they feel , a it is the GOD given right to speak up on matters of freedom in this country. Liberal thinking is alittle different yet the same in this country , throw money at the problem and that will fix it , sorry to say that will not fix the problem. And if the problem is with the head of an orig. then we here in the USA like to fix that problem where the problem lies. As for the liberal mindset they would rather just throw money at it and say to themselfs , hey we are repairing the problem by giving it more power and money to fix itself. As have virtually every other colonial power, except where they were asked to stay. If you want to have losses of colonies as a measure of a countries weakness then surely Britain wins hands down? And they didn't "try" to colonise vietnam or Algeria they did colonise vietnam and algeria.

During 1930's there was no war in europe but it could have been waged...well by one side..

My opinion is the only one that matters, everyone else is just alway wrong..

But the lack of war in europe in the 1930's proves my point well. It didn't take Germany's ability to make war away by "force". The 'diplomacy" allowed Hitler to build a better war machine and "caused" WWII.

Just like gulf war I didn't take Saddam's ability to make war away, that took GWII. The "diplomacy" after the Iraq/Iran war only helped build up to GWI.
