I think naivety, gullibility, and fears will dictate whether to think of Aliens as benevolent or malevolent.
If they said they were our creator God or Gods, would you believe them?
Lets suppose you do….so you go through years of subjugation and worship to the Alien’s.
Time of trial usually denotes preceding’s before judgement. In the context of Religion and Aliens…then what does “time of trial” mean if God/Jesus is an Alien? and then what would judgment look like?

The very concept of aliens would take them out of being able to judge us.
How can an alien know the reality of humans?
So, in theory, it would have to be some God to judge us, not any aliens.
What we don’t understand or are missing is that the “ aliens” would be a hand or action of God, not literally God. In other words, they follow orders. THERE NOT THE TOP RUNG of the intelligence they are from!
They would NOT be the literal judgment of God but the apparatus that physically takes part in the judgment on each side of the polar equation: heaven or hell.
So we've already been judged, and all they would do is carry it out.
Btw as an fyi…..the word Alien(s) is used in scripture at least 121 times……..
