Any statement that claims they prove one way or the other with a jaundiced eye to me is not any kind of proof.

Confirmation bias is when we look at only one side of the story—our side.

One has to research both sides of the story and present them, and even then, to make a claim of ”proof’ to me is ridiculous.

You don't have the data or objectivity to do such a thing.

You are entitled to your opinion, but claiming “proof" is another matter.

IMO, one has to produce both sides of the story and then offer merely one's opinion, not “proof” one way or the other.

This case really digs at me. There were videos, photos, eyewitness galore, ever the mayor testified that these lights were not something normal, but as soon as the media allowed for open mocking of the situation, most of the people that were talking about it clamed up pretty tight.

Even a couple years after the event I went down there to do a follow-up interview with an eyewitness, and the person "claimed" that it was all a HOAX and that they got paid to be in on it. When I asked the person who paid them, they threatened to call the cops on me. It was weird given that they were the ones willing to do the follow up.

I had asked some of the other people that went down there with me if at the time were there any reports of MiBs around the same time, and I got asked to leave since "I wasn't helping things".

This case above all UFO cases needs to be and still can be dug into. I felt at the time (and still do) that all the time and resources wasted on Roswell were spent of the Phoenix case, a lot of unknowns would be made clearer.

If you're going to poke that bear. The name "Cooper Airship" might be something to look at given the size and spread of the PL, but from what I read and heard at the time, it would have been inconsistent with a typical manmade object. It doesn't rule one out, it wouldn't have been something that was well known.

The first thing one must do when trying to determine the truth of any of this stuff is recognize that you CAN’T find out the CONCLUSIVE truth of any of these events one way or the other. A relatively informative and intelligent opinion is about all you can get.

Take Roswell, for instance. To research it thoroughly is to find out it is wholly based on second and even third-hand accounts, NOT any direct evidence, and any testimony that seems to indicate direct proof is shaky at best.

Though it does have numerous statements by military witnesses that it was an alien craft and alien beings involved. Nevertheless, on the other hand, it has direct evidence that three of the main witnesses, some of whom claim direct evidence, are liars.

But it takes relatively intense research to see all of this, not a cursory look at the evidence. And any one-sided view will NOT, IMO, determine the conclusive “ proof” one way or the other.

Many of us always want the easier answer; unfortunately, reality doesn’t adhere to our desires.

Another type of multiple-lights-cluster is a heavy satellite reentry fireball swarm [NOT over Phoenix], and it's sobering how consistent the witness misperceptions could be.

Witness Reactions to Fireball Swarms from Satellite Reentries.
