There was a show on the Science Channel where they delved into that video. Supposedly, the turkeys are circling the dead cat because they can't figure out if it's a threat or not. Then they got into a circle and they're used to following each other, so it all became a vicious cycle of self-reinforcing behavior. Each turkey sees the one in front that they're following investigating, so they investigate, and because they're in a circle, they never stop. Unless they get interrupted, they can actually get brain-locked until they die.

That was the explanation on the show anyhow. Thankfully it rarely happens to them.
