45 days ffs!

What a joke!

What's happening is the current Tory administration is in its death throes.

With no real confidence in the people they put forward for the position of PM.

What needs to happen is a general election imho but i would not get our hopes up there.

So what is the deal there? What are the tories messing up so horribly? I know there was something about pensions recently... I'm aware of the energy shortage/price hikes and possible scheduled blackouts... I don't know or understand the backstory though.

Is it something that can be explained in 100 words or less? Or does it need its own OP?

There might be a solution.

A little known British pol by the name Lord Donaldton Trumpington who actually has an estate near Downton Abbey is up for the job!

Sure, I’ll put him on a circuit tour of Milwaukee, St. Louis and Cincinnati. Charge people a buck and a half to see him and make a mint by Christmas.

Ahhhhh -- gotcha!

No. Just incompetent.

Tax cuts for the rich which the rest of us pay for during a cost of living crisis, crashing the Pound and the economy and then doing a U turn.

Just sheer bloody incompetence.

Simple as that.

Thank you!

The lettuce won!

I say give the lettuce a chance. It can't do much worse.

My bet would be just about everything and anything they have had their claws into over the past two decades or thereabouts whilst in power.

As to what Truss got up to or done wrong, well there was the budget and pound dropping in value shenanigans for one thing and she was only there less than a couple of months.

People never mind her own party never really had much faith in her far as i can establish.

When the Tories came to power the national debt was £900 Billion or so. They oversaw 12 years of austerity with the promise it was needed to get the debt under control. UK Debt is now...drum roll. £2.75 Trillion and climbing fast.

Scotland and Wales need to gtf out and away from this Trusster#.

Don't forget about Northern Ireland. With Sinn Fein in charge, this might be the ideal time to seek reunification with Ireland.

The country has never been the same since Brexit and is slowly descending into a lunatic asylum. Nothing works regarding our services indeed the country has gone to pot over the past since I reckon 2008 onwards, politician rotation is now the norm and something one expects. The standard of politicians compared to the past is joke stuff hence they keep trying to find someone who has integrity and can do the job yet nothing has worked so far. I expect plenty more rotations to come

But seriously…maybe it has something to do with a new king wanting to have a strong economy now that he holds the scepter and orb and is kinda sweeping away the old cobwebs and whispers of his should have been skipped?

I don't think the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) would be happy about that...

Wow, I just looked up the exchange rate between the Pound and the US Dollar, and it's currently 1 Lb = $1.13 US. Didn't it used to be like 2 or 3 times the value of a dollar? Not like Venezuela or anything, but still a pretty hard fall.

No, it doesn't work like that.

It was just plain old incompetence.
