Because China,Russia aren't going to give up fossil fuels, and all those solar panels, & batteries the west will be buying ,because the west can't keep up with their energy demands will be made with coal and delivered by fossil fuel planes,trains,and ships, and them diesel trucks.

Agreed, why victimise art that was created a long time ago. I would hate it if these idiots destroyed aboriginal artworks, the sprits will get them.

It would be their own fault if they were punished. That said; they probably wouldn't understand the reason for the bad luck or illness.

Some idiots in Melbourne straya superglued themselves to a Picasso.

Some idiots threw baked beans on Sunflowers by Van Gogh, an amazing artist.

I'm not sure about the Picasso incident but "Sunflowers" by Vincent van Gogh, in the national gallery, which is in London, will most lightly have been covered with some kind of protective screen, mitigating any damage the soup/beans may have caused.

And kids are especially useful, because youth is always the best excuse for anything stupid; but nowadays anyone calling them out is called a bully. And unlike the good old days, when laughing at mistakes taught us not to do that again, kids today don't learn, and become stupid adults.

I was trying to think of the reasoning behind the defacements-The only thing I could come up with-and it is tenuous-is that they are pissed off that these ancient grand masters were using OIL in their paint..
I hope the paint they throw on the pantings isn't oil based,or used any chemicals or carbon intensive manufacturing processes.

They recently also targeted an Aston Martin showroom with paint here in the UK-I thought that was retarded as well-as Aston Martin make far less cars/produce less carbon than someone like Ford/Toyota etc.

All these protests leave me asking the same question-How can these protesters believe that even if the whole UK went back to caveman living tomorrow,that would solve the problems they percieve?

Britain reverting to being neandertal would not do # in global terms-you think India and China would say "Hey look at that great example by Britain!We must all follow their lead!

My opinion is that it had nothing to do with the painting itself, rather they chose their target on what would get them the most publicity. In that they succeeded, the whole world has seen what they have done and their apparent cause or reasons for doing it.

Man that is harsh, considering the massive distances truckers travel in the U.S, can you imagine doing the same trip in an electric truck, the produce will go off.

Due to battery recharge times, what trucker wants to spend 3 to 4 hours to recharge every 6 hours cross continent.

Perhaps they are expected to go old school like a stage line or the pony express and have stop over points to pick up a freshly charged truck to complete the deliveries.
