What's everyone's opinion on the bombing of Maxim Fomin aka Vladlen Tatarsky and the video posted before the explosion?

Russian politics can be terminal for some people. Russia is a violent place that is steeped in social and political corruption. We may never know the truth.

But what we do know is that the Russian authorities immediately blamed Ukraine.

The story will quietly fade away. Russian bloggers and propagandists have been warned, so they will be doubly careful not to step off the line. They are all expendable if a point needs to be made.

Russian official opinion is all over the place re: the killing of the blogger. They didn't succeed in locking down the narrative and now competing 'theories' are being offered.

Cheers

3 April Update

* Wagner Group fighters made further advances in central Bakhmut and seized the Bakhmut City Administration Building on the night of April 2.

* Official Russian responses to Fomin’s death failed to generate a single narrative in the information space and led to disjointed responses from prominent pro-war voices.

* Russian forces conducted limited ground attacks along the Svatove-Kreminna line.

* Russian forces continued ground attacks in and around Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Donetsk City, and in western Donetsk Oblast.

More at URL above.

Cheers

To quote your quote!

Russia seized a pile of rubble, where once stood a building. How sad.

The reality is that the Russians have constructed multiple layers in their defensive zones. Some of these will be augmented with obstacles including anti-tank ditches, mines, wire and dragon’s teeth. There will be different densities of troops in each zone. Whether it will be a more static approach, or features more mobile defensive mindsets from Russian leaders remains to be seen. But, we can reasonably assume that the Russians will have reserves in troops and munitions for counter attack and counter penetration missions across the frontline. They are also very likely to have an extensive ISR plan that is focused on detecting and interdicting concentrations of Ukrainian troops before they cross their lines of departure in any attack.

Mick Ryan article

The potential for the Russians to improve their logistical systems and battlefield performance will determine if they can blunt the Ukrainian's latest counter-offensive. The same applies to stabilising Russia's positions after the Ukrainian breakthroughs in their defences.

Also, the re-emergence of divisions as front-line units are unsurprising, and brigades lack the numbers of personnel and equipment for conventional wars. But that poses a headache for Western military leaders and thinkers left with their current small all-professional militaries, often with recruitment and retention issues.

They cut production and the prices go up accordingly, so they make the same profit but we pay more.

Exactly
and "they" are the same oligarchs who back the Putin regime all the time scooping up massive profits and stuffing the dosh under their beds. You couldn't make this up if you tried, shame for the hundreds of thousands of dead people yet it's the same old game played out all over again

Putin wanted to prevent NATO getting larger

He played the cards so wrong, now Finland is in NATO, and being A Finn i welcome NATO , it`s good to have NATO surveillance planes flying here and listening the East, from Saint Petersburg to kola penisula directions...Russia has important military in Kola penisula area like Northern Fleet..

Finland joining NATO plays right into Putin's hands. He will use this as evidence that NATO is slowly encircling Russia and its near abroad. Nice propaganda piece in his MSM and this will get Russian's on his side for sure.

Putin has ZERO SAY in what other countries wish to do.

Let me repeat that. ZERO SAY. About time he got that into his thick head.

and you are much more than welcome to express that view. Yet as a propaganda piece to use at home the takeover of Finland by NATO is a dream come true for Putin and his state controlled MSM

Putin is going to look a complete prat if he tries that line.

After all, Putin himself wanted Russia to join NATO some years ago, but wanted to jump the application process,

He really does need treatment.

NATO is not taking over Finland in any way, shape or form.

This does not play into Putin's hands at all. He wanted less NATO.

He's getting more. Good.

Yes, I suspect that he might be feeling a bit cross right now.

For sure to us westerners that does look true, but from a Russian point of view NATO enlargement following mass brainwashing for decades is going to get them on side with Vlad's plan, for good or for bad

The FACT is mate that Finland would not be a member of NATO if Russia hadn't invaded Ukraine.
No amount of spin can change that.

More and more Russians seem to be waking up to the realities of what Putin has done.

If Putin isn't happy, well # him, who cares?
And let's be honest, what the # is he going to do about it? Threaten to throw a couple of nukes around again?

All this means is that if he has any designs on Finland in his search for a Greater Russia he better think twice, or he'll have to face the full might of NATO....I don't see how that will benefit Russia or it's people, not that I think Putin gives a toss about the Russian people.

OK. So, Finland and Sweden want to join NATO. Of their own volition.

Should NATO block this because it might not go down well with "brainwashed" Russians?

I don't think so.

Seems that there is growing opposition within Russia to Putin and his war, despite the extreme crackdown by the State against any form of dissent or criticism.

Including against a 12 year old child and her father, apparently.
