14 February Update

* US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin signaled on February 14 that the Ukraine Defense Contact Group’s 54 member states will continue to support Ukraine in the long run.

* Russian forces continued offensive actions in the Kupyansk direction and along the Svatove-Kreminna line on February 14.

* Russian forces continued ground attacks around Bakhmut and along the western outskirts of Donetsk City on February 14.

* Russian forces did not conduct any confirmed ground attacks in western Donetsk Oblast or in Kherson, Mykolaiv, or western Zaporizhia oblasts on February 14.

* Russian ground forces on the Kola Peninsula in northwestern Russia have been reduced to one-fifth of their initial strength numbers before the invasion of Ukraine ...

* A Ukrainian and Tatar partisan group reportedly conducted an improvised explosive device (IED) attack on a car carrying two Russian military personnel and two Russian special service representatives in Nova Kakhovka on February 10.

How come, during the preceding two pages that predominantly were about the continued complete malfeasance of the Russian "Military", you were no where to be found?

I swear its like this thread and any thread related to Ukraine is filled with Russian Sponsored Gophers.

The good news is you drew attention to a lack of attention to detail by Kenzo and they immediately aknowledged this.

My question for the masses (mostly said gophers) is where is the actual acknowledgements in return when its patently clear that Russia is failing and losing this war based on their own stated and global expectations that were made at the beginning of this war?

To be honest I forgot there is even an ongoing "miscellaneous" thread like this, first time I checked it in a couple months, whatever forum I'm in I just bypass the stickied threads and just read the most recently posted thread

I guess Im still wondering why has no one on the pro-putin side of things responded regarding the same ol reports and video of the utter incompetance of the russian army? A year later and we are seeing the same tactics being used that have failed so miserably up unto this point.

The lack of a mid tier NCO core and or ability to have decision making at the tactical level in theater is astounding. The previously mentioned minefield videos would absolutely never have happened with proper squad, platoon and company level leadership.

This is going to be so much worse when Russia decides to finally put their foot to the gas on the offensive. By that point Ukraine will be resupplied to point of being able to flank, counter attack and perform thunder runs.

And its the on the ground lack or command and control of the russian command structure that will allow this...

By October we are going to see another massive loss territory by the russians.

Only answers I tend to see else where are that Ukraine and the West cant hold out, and that ruZZia will just throw unassailable numbers of troops at the problem... like they have for the last 3+ centuries. Which is pretty much whats gonna happen (except for the hold out part, as long as the West doesnt slide into its typical old apathy), result countless dead ruZZians all to prop up a regime that was on the verge of collapse to begin with. The most common estimate is putler is happy to kill 500k ruZZians before he'd start to back off. Where at 140k less than a year in, so from a ruZZian putler perspective we've got a while to go...

No one really gave them the memo that warfares changed in the last 30 years... alot.

ruZZia is a total top down country, you do nothing unless someone from above tells you to do something, even if it means you'll die from inaction and if you've been told to do something you keep repeating that action until told otherwise... not doing so in both cases means you'll probably be killed by your own people.

Its madness... but thank god they are.

This. Absolute lack of initiative and small unit leadership.

They prevailed in World War II because they had to -- Russia's existence was at stake. Not the same situation in Ukraine; only question is how long it takes for Russia's common soldiers to have enough of the incompetent warlords masquerading as army officers.
