They have one of the largest ports in the world, and survive just fine without the russian bridge before it was completed a few years ago.

But sure, those poor russians in Crimea should go back to russia right away.

Did russian teevee tell you 'Kharkiv was hit with missiles all night'?

What was that you were saying about terror attacks?

Firstly, Ukraine isn't a a state on of terrorism, they are a independent state at war from a foreign invader. Every inch of Ukraine belongs to them and I hope they fight just as hard to regain their land back.

Imagine Russian troops marching in to Alaska and annexing it? How well do you think that'd go down.

If there was Millions of Ethnic Russians living in Alaska and the government they all voted for and got in was overthrown by a bunch of Nationlists and the new installed government was against the millions of ethnic Russians and started creating new laws to take away their culture and language and even send in armed forces to attack them when they say they are separating? I think it would go down pretty good for the millions of ethnic Russians and the areas of Alaska that they live in.

Thing is there isn't millions of ethnic Russians in Alaska and there aren't parts of Lska that are inhabited by almost 100% ethnic Russian people, so trying to compare this to what's going on with UKRAINE to Alaska makes absolutely ZERO SENSE

Nope I saw it on Fox and Headline news that Kharkiv was hit by missiles. Fox has a reporter right in Kharkiv and he said the whole city is on edge expecting more missiles to come in at anytime. I haven't watched any Russian TeeVee since last night

They didnt say what was hit in Kharkiv only that "non civilian building were hit"

Confused again?

They 'voted' AFTER russia invaded and people fled, not before.

Making the 'election' 100% meaningless.

Odd, a quick search of Fox shows nothing of what you claimed.

Russia has been shelling Kharkiv since Ukraine took it back , sore losers I guess.

The bridge , which Russia claimed was well protected , shows Ukraine's intent to retake Crimea and ability to strike when and where they please.

Perhaps someone is confusing Kharkiv City for Kharkiv Oblast?

Cuz russians aren't anywhere near being in artillery range of Kharkiv City anymore.

I am reminded of the German shelling of Strasbourg from the other side of the Rhine after the city was liberated in November 1944.

No military utility, just pure murderous spite.

Cheers

Propaganda is thick on this from both sides. Russia says so what? but considering the 4 billion dollar bridge was one of Putin's accomplishments it has to sting and will likely garner a harsh response.

and is it just me isn't it a little crazy that Ukraine already has a commemorative stamp of the explosion already designed and in the works? Good to see all the aid being put to good use. This is akin to Vietnam making a stamp of the TET offensive the morning it happened. Just a new aspect of modern warfare?

"So?": Russian authorities and propagandists react to the destruction of Crimean bridge

Officials of Russia and occupied Crimea, as well as Russian propagandists, are reacting to the explosion and fire on the Crimean bridge with threats.

Source: Ukrainska Pravda; Mariya Zakharova, the spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, on Telegram

Quote from Zakharova: "The reaction of the Kyiv regime to the destruction of civilian infrastructure testifies to its terrorist nature."

Details: Andrey Gurulev, an MP for the Russian State Duma [the Russian Parliament] said that he was "furious" and that "such things happen in war."

Quote from Gurulev: "We definitely need a strong answer, and we will give it. But there is no need to rush here, we need to think everything through to the smallest detail; now the main thing is not to give in to emotions.

Our Commander-in-Chief [Putin] knows how to take balanced and strong decisions, he will do it, I am sure, the time has come."

www.pravda.com.ua...

Ukrposhta, the national postal service of Ukraine, is to release a new stamp depicting the burning Crimean Bridge; the release date will be announced later.

Source: General Director of Ukrposhta Ihor Smilianskyi on Telegram

Quote from Smilianskyi: "The morning has never been so good.. On the occasion of the holiday, we are releasing a new stamp with the Crimean Bridge, or, more precisely, with what remains of it."

Details: According to Smilianskyi, the stamp comes with a name of M (for "mist", Ukrainian for "bridge"); the price will be 18 hryvnias [US$0.48], and circulation will be 7 million.

The officials also said that the stamp has been prepared together with Ukrainian artist Yurii Shapoval. "It shows a washing machine [Russians stole a number of these when breaking into civilians’ houses – ed.], enemy equipment, and handcuffs that Crimea breaks with Russia," he added.

Celebrating the destruction of a civilian bridge that was one of the main transport lines for food and supplies to millions of Crimean citizens is very weird.

I thought Ukraine cared about the Crimean people? Well we already know they don't because as soon as Crimea joined Russia, Ukraine built a dam that cut off the flow of fresh water into Crimea which killed all the crops and ruined all the farm lands in Crimea.

Where was you when Russia was cluster bombing Kharkiv? Bombing power stations and dozens of Ukrainian bridges

What a strange thing to say ?

That bridge is used to bring in tanks and weapons regularly

It’s a legitimate target

Unlike a power station or dense residential area

Unreal blinkers

Doesn’t matter anyway, your never going to win even if your CCP buddies and the North Koreans wanna play pew pew

To me it all look`s like missile salvo, several white flashes/explosions

I think I’m going with a single SRBM

sabotage nope
Boat? Nope
HIMARS? maybe ATACMs ?

I dunno this looks different

It’s like it airburst over the road bridge?

Strange

Maybe Ukraine has built a new unknown SRBM

It was well out of range for HIMARS, and I don't see any of the ATACMS tell-tale signs.

Is it possible that Ukraine captured a Russian missile system with this capability.

That might explain why why the Russians moved so many ships and planes out of Crimia.

All it would take is one person with a couple pounds of plastic explosive and wired to a cell phone.
Put the IED ona truck full of russian military explosives heading to the front.

Since many cell phones have GPS and you can track them by pinging the phone without ringing the phone, you can track it to just where it will do the most damage.

Put the cell phone wired with the explosives on a supply truck carrying military explosives to Crimea.

Track it till it crosses the bridge and ring the phone and set off the IED.

Cost less than $1000. Cost of a missile to hit the bridge $100.000+ and you have to hope it will hit the bridge.

Who did it Ukraine?
Russians against Putin?
The CIA?
