Potential Mandela Effect, Kate Bush, Running up that hill.

I was a child of the 1980's I trained in Musical Theater since Age 9, We always had the Radio on...? How in the World did I NOT hear of Kate Bush alongside Madonna, Whitney, Tiffany, Debbie, Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Pat Benatar, The Eurythmics, Souxie Sue, Enya, Lorena Mckennit? Um HOW? Jesus!!!! I was even trained to know who Idina Menzel and Eden Espinosa are in Modern Musical Theater!!! *Gulp 88 Miles an hour *Morty....I mean Marty...

I always saw her on MTV..white dress,wild dark hair,pasty complexion. Running with horrible special effects behind her but cool for the times.
Definitely happened though!
She was really unique.

Siouxsie & The Banshees, Skinny Puppy, Holger Czukay.

Lots of things go on, for real, that never hit the mainstream consciousness.

I legit had a ME a few days ago on a gig. I had been all over the stage setting up and focusing lights...then had run a whole 12hr day of show and one the next day mid day through the day there was randomly a clear podium on stage. The PM noticed it and was like where did that come from. No one but the video engineer had seen it before and we were already one session into the day. My assumption is we all jumped into the new timeline or just the video guy and the podium jumped into ours! Lol anyway I have no idea who most famous people are cause I just don't care so not help here...but I do think there is something to the whole ME thing.

Skinny Puppy was amazing as was Vancouver in those days.

She was, or still is a thing, I remember Running Up That Hill, I also remember her guesting on some prog act, Peter Gabriel was one.

Dont you mean Mugabee Effect?.

She was on Top of the Pops all the time in the 80s!

However, her biggest hit, Wuthering Heights, only reached 108 in the US charts (No.1 in UK, Ire, Aus and NZ). Running up that Hill did make it to No.30, in 1985, but that effectively made her a one hit wonder in the USA. So no surprise you don't remember her.

I've had things like that happen b4 also. Got half way through a 5 day show run, LD came to the booth tobitch about not finding his jacket after dress run. As he was talking to me, he glanced on stage and saw it on the wall of the set. It was being used as set dressing.

As to the OP, I never really liked Kate Bush. My daughter loves her bc of stranger things. It is funny to me how easily kids are manipulated today. She loves her music.

I remember Kate Bush very well, but always hated the song 'running up that hill'

The kids love it now (stranger things, a show I also don't like much)

the way i understand it is she dropped in and out of recording and took long periods off. once she didn't do anything for 12 years.

Soon after, she split from boyfriend Del Palmer, who'd also been her bass player for 10 years. Worst was the death of her mother in 1992. In a rare interview, Bush revealed how the three events turned her into a "zombie" addicted to daytime TV.

She was more early 80's and before some of the others you mention hit the scene.

What about other 1980's hits by her, not so sure they were all hits over the pond in the US but they were here in the UK and some other European nations.


Much of the US music though was actually much better, remember Jennifer Rush.



As for the Mandela effect, well there are several plausible arguments that try to explain it.

Faulty memory may work for some but not the sheer number that have experienced it.

Merging parallel reality's one of my own ideas that may be simply a pile of crap or is it, imagine two reality's that split but remained almost identical and under the force of there gravity acting upon time space in both universes which are really just two branches of the same universe they then re-merge and any differences remain as so called Mandela affects and as odd differences such as how so many of us remember the SUN being golden yellow and the SKY when not overcast actually being light blue (possibly aging eye's?) or how the origin of the name of the affect came about people remembering Mandela dying and then he was alive so had not died yet for so many it was a vivid memory but the occurrence long predates this later given name for the phenomena.

Another one that is popular with some new agers is reality jumping, you step from one reality into another because they are so close and you actually exist in both at the same time as if your consciousness is somehow able to affect reality itself or to STEER you through a multiverse of tangled parallel reality's, think about Schrodinger's cat in the box and how consciousness and observation seem to affect and lock quantum states.

OR it is something we simply can not find an answer for.

Perhaps even the universe is in a state of flux and prone to what is called super space (The place inside of which the Universe exists is called super space) fluctuations and if you know about brane theory fluctuating interaction between membrane universes in super space.
