No they weren't. Russian bombers don't try to penetrate US airspace anymore than the RC-135s and P-8As try to enter Russian airspace. They entered the ADIZ around Alaska without clearance or identification. This happens several hundred times a year, and has happened several hundred times a year for many years.

Ukraine doesn’t have any nukes to lose control of. They were Soviet nukes and were returned to Russia after the break up of the Soviet Union.
