Russia has and is doing more damage than ukraine would have ever done with their policies.

I didn't grow up being taught in school to hate my own country, but I DID get educated in school to hate Russian and every Russian person drawing breath.

Communism was taught as a bad thing back in my day, with Stalin having been an evil dictator and replaced by the ever more evil Brezhnev, then Khrushchevere. They were all depicted as a threat to the entire world, and from the day Putin took office the world became even less safe according to news reports.

The SU/Russia were always invading other countries and slaughtering the citizens, hampering any world good the USA was trying to do around the globe.

I found myself wondering why we had joint military exercises with 'the enemy', and joint space missions.

There's always two sides to every story, and if you replace USA for Russia the story of history reads the same.

You're all in a tough predicament: You can't even call this a war, you may get imprisoned just for calling it that, but at the same time you may have to go die in this non-war.

The official transcript of the speech mentioned that 300.000 people will be drafted.

Now there is rumors in Europe that there was a 'secret' chapter 7 'only for officials' , that says that the plan is that 1 million people will be drafted.

As a former combat vet with 5 tours, I wish you all the best and to come home all in one piece

The biggest advice I can give you is take care of your gear and it will take care of you, and TRUST YOUR GUT

Turretless:

Go to the Israeli Embassy. State that you are Jewish and are requesting right of return. State it your mother's side, maybe a great grandparent that has Jewish decent. Get on a plane to Israel. The Israeli Govm't will take care of you but you will have to join the IDF.

You have a better chance with the IDF against the Iranians, which will shortly follow your emmigration than you do against Ukraine and NATO.

I don't know about that, after all, the USA is playing catch up to the British Empire in that respect.

I think they have invaded about 90% the nations of the world at one time or the other.

With only 22 countries having escaped British invasion thus far.

Not something to be proud of i may add in this day of age.

But quite the feat for a tiny little island only 700 odd miles long.

ATS would have been a great place to be if it was about when we were building the empire.
