Mike Pence has issued a denunciation of Joe Biden's speech at Independence Hall last week denouncing pro-Trump Republicans as enemies of democracy, arguing that this speech was divisive and painted all Republicans as anti-democracy. As Pence comprehensively put it:

Did you see that speech last week? President Biden held a partisan campaign rally at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, flanked by uniformed United States Marines, and revealed what’s truly at stake in the next election,” Pence said in remarks Wednesday night to Concerned Women for America, a conservative anti-abortion group.
....
“The president made it clear that he views pro-life Americans as enemies of democracy,” Pence said. “In fact, he said that anyone who refuses to bend the knee to his extremist left-wing ideology represents ‘an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.’”

“Never before in the history of our nation has a president stood before the American people and accused millions of his own countrymen of being a ‘threat to this country,'” Pence continued. “To top it off, President Biden had the audacity to claim, ‘I’m asking our nation to come together, to unite.’”

I know that Mike Pence has been ferociously anti-abortion and was happy to see the case of Roe v. Wade overturned by the Supreme Court, and that he also sticks by the ideological nonsense about patriotic education unaware that many schoolteachers and university professors never, EVER, teach their pupils that the US is racist or evil. However, Pence's claim that Biden called pro-life Americans and all Republicans "enemies of democracy" is pretty far-fetched and baloney because Biden's speech wasn't targeting the entire Republican Party, only the MAGA faction.

Excuse me, but I have seen so many similar sentiments...

MAGA stands for

Make
America
Great
Again

What is the problem with someone wanting their country to become great?

What is wrong with someone saying their country once was great?

How can anyone interpret those two questions to indicate that someone is "anti-democracy"?

Answer those questions and maybe we can have a conversation.

Mike still thinks he has a chance to become president. He needs to get all those "Hang Mike Pence" MAGA folks back though. He won't, on either count.

I doubt Pence will actually run, but to be honest... I'd vote for him over Joe Biden in a New York heartbeat.

Of course, I'd vote for a rusty doorknob before I'd vote for Joe Biden.

Nice spin but what Biden said was 1000x more devisive than anything Trump ever said.

Did you even watch it?

Blood red lighting with military goons on his flanks?

Hillary was pulling the same sh!t on the 2016 election celebration before they realised that they didn't cheat enough and lost.

The Dems are not your friends.

Biden stated whoever supported Trump was an enemy of the U.S. So yeah that is only 73 million people. I only know what I heard when he spoke.

Do you know what you sound like?

You sound exactly like every leftist ever coming back after someone on the American political left calls all Republicans racist, and then you excuse them and try to walk it back by saying, "No. That's not what he said. He said all racists are Republicans, not that all Republicans are racist. See?"

It's facile and lazy and an attempt to handwave it all away because you truly do think we're all as stupid as you have convinced yourself we are. No. We hear what we hear. You keep right on pissing on our legs, and we'll keep right on behaving like you are.

At this rate, the Republicans would have to try really, really hard to come up with someone I'd have to vote for Biden over in order to feel like I was doing the country a favor.

many schoolteachers and university professors never, EVER, teach their pupils that the US is racist or evil.

But many schoolteachers and university professors constantly teach their students that the US is racist and evil.
The leftist indoctrination campaigns being foisted upon American students at every grade level is very real. If you deny it, you're either ignorant or dishonest.

The Bushes and Reagan weren't racist, unlike Trump. Neither Jimmy Carter nor Walter Mondale called Reagan's party a pack of racists. Remember that when he delivered a speech at Mount Rushmore in July 2020, Trump falsely accused "angry left-wing mobs" of wanting to take over the US, but the George W. Bush and his brother but also the McCain family refused to believe him. When I read about white nationalists endorsing Donald Trump for president during his 2016 presidential election campaign, this had me apprehensive about a seemingly racist man plotting to take over the Republican Party.

I'm not a fan of Mr. Pence, but he's right in saying that Biden labeled the majority of republicans in this country a threat. Since officially, 74+ million republicans voted for Trump, that makes them maga supporters, and according to Joe, a threat to the democrats "democracy".

At least Pence understands something that no neo-marxist democrat ever will. What form of government this country was founded on.

Police brutality against people of color has historically been never directed from the federal government, but instead has been conducted under the watch of city mayors. But I agree with you that the 1619 Project distorts the story of the long-term foundations of the US by ignoring the fact that Jamestown Colony was the first building block for the future United States by English settlers.

During Biden's speech not once did he use the words, inflation, gas, energy, food, healthcare. He however did use the word Republicans a whopping 16 times. It's pretty clear what's on the minds of the Obiden administration.

Curiously, I wonder what you would be saying if it were Trump who made a speech with the Marines and crazy lighting, old man splainin' about how your politics are a terrorist threat to our republic.

While also conspiring with social media to reinforce your narrative.
While also using executive beurocracies to go after your enemies.

All racists ARE Republicans, unless they're black. Then, they are Democrats.

But all white racists are indeed likely Republican. Considering black people are only "13%" I keep seeing, the vast majority of racists are Republican would be a factually correct statement.

Unfortunately? But undisputable, lol.

When looking at the 2020 presidential election in Florida, you should have been disappointed that many, if not most, Cuban Americans got hoodwinked by Donald Trump into thinking that Joe Biden is a socialist because the 2020 presidential election in a few respects was supposed to be a referendum on Trump's Cuba policy and Joe Biden did not advocate for state control over American healthcare and economic activities. Note that the level of Cuban American support that Trump garnered during the 2016 and 2020 elections is much lower than the level of Cuban American support garnered by McCain, Dole, the Bushes, and Reagan.

Brilliant, the exact same dumb #. No one sees that. Trump demonized the left plenty of times, people were all gung ho rooting it on and agreeing with it here. That wasn't divisive though, that was truth.

I'm telling you now, if this country ever loses it's way enough because of leaders like Trump, like if that # catches on into the future, people will become persecuted to the point of being jailed and killed because of being enemies of the state. It can happen here and the sick thing is, a lot of people on this forum for example would be okay with it.

It's all rather pointless in the end. No one is switching sides, they do get more and more ignorantly extreme though, fueling more bull#.

By the way, if a Democrat ever gets elected for anything, they cheated. If they lose, they didn't cheat enough. Why? Because no one would ever elect a Democrat ever. Why? Because I dont like them and I'm on media where no one likes them.

THIS is one of most ignorant things I see of all ignorant # because it's just a way to never accept that your "side" or "team" lost. Are you so deluded in fantasy world believing all the # you read? It's sad, man.

Too little, too late.

Pence should have supported the President against the Russia fraud and efforts to expose what was clearly an election fraud in 2020.

Pence is looking out for himself in 2024: no, just no

Pence is a sellout and still an asshole
