Didn't the Australians have a permanent detachment there? They maintained the aircraft while the pilots were rotated in and out. I know they used to
have one at Miramar when they were converting to the F/A-18.
They did with the F-35, until they built up a core cadre. Now they do their training at home, and seeing the jets through Luke on their delivery
flights. They’ll go over them, and maybe do a couple flights until a KC-30 can pick them up.
