Campbell is a liar, exposed by Dr Kelly, the inquiry will be a whitewash.

I think you may be right, this id going to be feasted upon by the media and as somone else said, conspiracy site etc. However the iquiry will be swift and decisive, It will show how Kelly killed himself, I'm sure some dirt will be created about his personal life to justify this, and I don't doubt that the invstigation will show exactly how all this is suppossed to have happened.
So all in all, Spot the lastest government cover up. Phew it's getting tricky keeping up with them all lately.

I'd like to know if this guy signed The Official Secrets Act.
I'd also like to know if he got paid for talking to the BBC.

If the answer to those questions is yes, it's entirely plausible that he would have killed himself.
Who wants to live the rest of their life branded as a traitor?

I'm not saying that this is the case but it is a plausible situation. And IF it is the case, the BBC are more responsible for any suicide rather than the UK government.

According to his family (AND the BBC) he was depressed by the situation and by the inquiry which he had attended and which was ongoing. I would suggest that we wait for the Judicial Inquiry before crying wolf. It also pays to remember that the vast majority of information that we are recieving about this situation is supplied by the very media which was accused by the Government of bias and lies in the first place.

To answer your questions, Kelly had signed the Official secrets act, but he was not paid by the BBC, and his reputation was not going to be tarnished at all, his pension being removed would have been his toughest punishment.

He didn't kill himself, it is quite obvious if you were following this story before Kelly died that the government was in trouble, Alastair Campbell was exposed by Dr Kelly through the BBC as having doctored the dossier. Kelly did lie to the team of MPs that questioned him, i think he lied because he had been forced not to expose Campbell. Downing street was desperate to save Campbell, and bear in mind that Kelly was preparing to give more evidence to the MPs.

Kelly was a liability for the government, i know he was murdered, it could have been MI5, but it could have been a simple contract killing.

Liability?
I would say he was an advantage if anything.
His involvement allows the government to try to discredit the BBC (rightly or wrongly). This affair also dominates the news and takes attention off other issues.
The government had no reason to murder Kelly. He had already stated that he thought he wasn't the mole and the BBC had revealed everything that he had told him.
Then take the manner of his death. Murders that are made to look like suicides are much more elaborate than this.
Also add the fact that his death would be a blatant pain in the butt for the UK government (as it has revealed itself to be) and it's highly unlikely that he was murdered.
So not only was it more of an advantage to have him alive but it was also disadvantageous for any skullduggery to take place.

Logic points to the conclusion that he commited suicide.

It is interesting to note that they found 4 electrocardiogram sensor pads on his chest....

He said that in the opinion of Dr Hunt the main factor in bringing about Dr Kelly's death was bleeding from an incised wound to his left wrist. Removal of watch and spectacles suggested a deliberate act of self-harm, Dr Hunt found.

The pathologist had also said Dr Kelly had a significant degree of coronary artery disease and that this may have played some small part in the speed of death but was not a major cause of it.

He said four electro-cardiogram pads were found on Dr Kelly's chest.

Lord Hutton said: "It is clearly important that I and the public should have a very much more detailed and fuller picture of the facts than the outline I have just given. Therefore, the first task in this inquiry will be to flesh out that outline. This will be done at the next stage of the inquiry."

Suicide looks more likely now than ever to me, although i think he could have possibly recieved threats, his suicide could have been a desperate attempt to protect his family.

Dr Kelly basically snitched on the Government and he must have felt terrible with himself.

Is it not possible though that someone is trying to kill all the world's top microbiologists, Dr Kelly was the UK's leading expert on Biological and Chemical weapons, he was one of our top scientists.

I was the first to cry conspiracy when Kelly died, but today i think it's about 50-50.

I think Kelly's family would know more about his state of mind than anyone speculating, and they seem to accept the suicide as fact.

The number of dead microbiologists is certainly very suspicious.
