Not a bad point.

oldcarpy says because he feels strongly about it. But I don't buy that.
Who would risk their families lives to be able to say some stuff that most wont even remember was said.

Maybe he has no family or friends? Maybe they have already been taken somewhere safe as part of a deal between the paratrooper and whoever helped him get this message out?

Maybe it's all just more propaganda.

In those sort of countries they'll make someone pay for you stepping out of line. Too risky if you love your close friends and family. Someone will pay. I don't get how he could do it hence questioning the truth

I was sticking to the topic. The "Russian Soldier speaking out against the war in Ukraine". And I was explaining that there are dissenters in EVERY WAR. This soldier is not "unique" or "brave" for speaking out.
