Do you ever stop to think about your 24 hour day and how you are spending your time?

How would you define time in your life?

Sorry to digress, as a noobie , how does one place an image on the profile logo? Or do I have to wait and be patient?

Today you look at yesterday, and yesterday, you looked towards tomorrow, which is now today...and tomorrow we can relate to our yesterday's...which is "today".

Life to death to seed to more life ..it's Eternal.

Time fears the Pyramids...

Time is simply the property of the universe that stops everything from occurring in the same instant.

The measurement of time by numbers is an arbitrary system created by humans. It has no basis beyond Earth.

A person perceives time as now. It never is the future as they have to wait for the future to be now before they can experience it. The past is just a memory of what was now when that now is no more.

Time is a resource. It is your most valuable resource. That's why governments and corporations like to use it up, especially when they can use it for free.

"Chronology": The arrangement of events or dates in the order of their occurrence.

The word Chronology is rooted in the Greek God Chronos (Latinized), "Father Time".

Chronos (/ˈkroʊnɒs/; Greek: Χρόνος, [kʰrónos], "time"), also spelled Khronos or Chronus, is the personification of time in pre-Socratic philosophy and later literature.

Chronos is a primordial God, meaning he existed at or during the beginning of "creation"; primeval.
www.google.com...

Primeval, rooted in the word primus, meaning first. And aevum, meaning age. The "first age".

Chronus also derives from the Orphic Greek mythology (Orphism). And as orphic greek mythology was phased out, Chronus the primordial became Cronus the Titan. Not exactly the same in technical context, but theoretically the same mythological creature.

Egyptian and Greek religion/lifestyle is truly remarkable. And by todays standards, everything we know, all the words we say, are derivatives of these ancient lifestyles. For example, our cardinal directions "North", "South", "East" and "West" come from ancient pagan Norse stories of four Dwarves that held up the four corners of the "firmament".

Granted it may be Norse, but Norse and Greco-Roman peoples are all Indo-European (Slavic mythology, Keltic mythology, Hindu & the former mentioned).

Time is the 'Now'.

You only have the now, this present second. That's it!
Use it wisely.

As 'Klassified' mentions, it is the most precious thing you have in life.

That is why you are distracted so much by garbage.

What? How many hours are in a light year?

Space time is just a model constructed by mathematicians to make it easier to explain certain concepts. It does not really exist.

I live for the moment, One day at a time. It's the quality...not the quantity.

But the ticket, take the ride....

I define time as what I can do today , this present moment and not put off until tomorrow.
Seeing my son and daughter change physically , emotionally , spiritually. From babies to the young adults they are becoming.
The wrinkles I see in the mirror that in didn’t see before.
Going for a long run and not running as fast and being more tired than usual when I am finished.
And all of those annoying gray hairs you find. That is Father Time telling you that your “time” is running out .

I always think of time existing in the frontal lobes of the brain.

"Dorsolateral prefrontal right cortex is considered as the region most involved in time perception."

"Damage to the neurons or tissue of the frontal lobe can lead to personality changes, difficulty concentrating or planning, and impulsivity."

If you really lived in the moment, you'd be more or less like an animal- impuslive, instinctive, little to no planning, little to no understanding of the consequences of our actions (how our actions in the "now" affect our "future nows").

We live more in the future in a sense, than most animals, meaning we do things in the now with great consideration of what consequences our behavior might bring in the future.

Time is connected to the ability to understand cause and effect (if we do X now, then Y will happen afterwards).

If you lose that ability... you become impulsive, and can potentially do a lot of damage. Some animals do have a little bit of this ability to see into the past and future (ex. elephant memory and animals stocking up food in anticipation of periods of potential famine- a little bit of "planning"), but not like us and not to the extent that we do it.

I'm a fan of mindfulness to a point, the now is important in regards to like, dealing with trauma and stuff. Like, right now I'm sitting in my room listening to Kishi Bashi and my cat is rubbing his face against mine and everything is pretty safe and chill. But I'm also in this now because of all the past nows which led up to this one, all the x and ys I did to get to z.

I don't know if anybody should ever fully disconnect the now from past nows and future nows, to do so would be dangerous imo. We have a wonderful gift, thanks to our frontal lobes, to be able to see into the future in a sense, and prepare and plan, and imagine better lives and better worlds even.

No , I don't ponder about time to much now,
but in my youthful years, I did include the
concept of time in my poems. One poem
relates that God is Essence and Presence
Eternal , while humans are "Con-sequence
Presented"

I have never worn a wrist watch. Well , I tried
but my forearm is the about the same circumference
from my wrist back about three inches ,
so the watch would always slide up my arm
and look stupid. I don't like elastic or tight fitting
clothing or accessories . So I just took it as a sign from
Universe to not be too concerned about time.

I am not hurried or worried about time.
I am the one who drives the speed limit.
Others pass me by only, to have me pull
up behind them at the next red light.
I am the one that others try to
"Tailgate Intimidate", but I don't speed up.
YOU FOOLS! BE ENTHRALLED BY THE" FINALNESS" OF YOUR " LIVES"!

I have bestowed upon myself the luxury of time.
Why? Well ,just because I am , and I feel like it.
Nothing really needs to be "done" anyway,
Only continued (at a leisurely pace in my case),
for ever and ever.....
I don't need to prove anything to myself
or anybody else.

I am just "here" to savor the experience,
because I have nothing better to do.
