Do you know it doesn't? Have you asked or are you just assuming?

What if the silence is the fear?

The old adage 'Divide and conquer' comes to mind

Whomever is controlling the strings, has completely divided the Nation, therefore conquered it I presume

The division could hardly be more complete, red and blue, black and white, liberal and conservative, vaccinated and unvaccinated, Ukraine/NATO vs Russia/BRICS, Roe vs Wade etc

Not just the Nation, but it seems there are only 2 sides globally

You are either with us or against us

Fear me

The left literally runs on fear. They invent new phrases and definitions constantly to protect their delicate psyches. They are the ones who gave us "safe spaces", "cry closets", and actually organized events to "scream at the sky" over Trump's election. They have to change the definition of a recession because they can't handle bad news. They will get upset if you "assume one's gender". They will be outraged if you dare try to define a woman or question the possibility that a man can get pregnant.

Fear is embedded so deeply in every aspect of liberalism that they don't even see it anymore.

I don't think it's fear, it's a bit of anger, a lot of mistrust, and a pretty deep desire to see real verifiable justice.

But the real question is, why do you and the others on the left fear Donald J. Trump so damn much? He isn't even president anymore, and still there are multiple investigations going trying to find anything they can on him to keep him from running again.

Did you not survive his previous term? Did his mean tweets break you mentally?
it sure makes me smile when we continue to hear "democrats accuse others of what they are guilty of", and then you come out with a thread like this.

The real pisser about these "Help me to understand" posts is first, they are completely disingenuous. Second, if you answer, the OP takes that as a reason to argue with you. That gives the lie to your OP right there. If you truly want to understand, STFU and listen. If you actually just want to argue, have the balls to state your case and ask for argument.

Otherwise, go back to the basement.

I expect to get a lot of I'm not afraid of anything responses but I am truly curious about why your are so afraid (or hate):

The Government
Members of the Democratic Party
Immigrants
Women
Blacks
Browns
Muslims
Teachers
Union Members
and the list goes on.

I am truly curious about why you are afraid of theses things?

Will you feel safe if everyone thinks and acts and likes the same things you do?

I just don't understand this need for conformity to feel safe.

Help a person out here.

What makes you think anyone is? Why do you lump all those groups together? Why not include religious groups and only select political parties? You seem to have assumptions that are unfounded.

To you first paragraph - I agree with everything you've said on both the left and the right. And as for "verifiable justice", I don't know what you mean by that. You can I could both claim that 'term' and hope for very different outcomes on a single instance. What do you mean by 'verifiable' - a decision by a court, a decision by a court that one agrees with, you can see the difficulty here. And justice is a very nebulous term and very subjective in nature. I like the term Fair better because every child of seven has a good sense of fairness on the playground, but it is a very self-centered one. Justice is a tough concept and would be a great topic on it's own.

I don't fear DJT so much as I fear the masses that follow him without question. Just as the right fears unconstrained women and minorities voting. He is a symbol of fear just as immigrants are a symbol. And the real question here, I think, is an underlying societal fear of acknowledging fear at all. The fear of appearing weak because one acknowledges feeling fear.

For your third paragraph. Yes, in a certain way DJT and his election did break me, it make me acknowledge something I did not want to. Something, many years ago, I said to my mother, "It could never happen here" and she slapped me (the only time in my childhood anyone was physically violent towards me) when speaking of the rise of fascism in Europe in WWII. I never believed that anyone would seriously vote for such an immoral, avatistic and corrupt character. But I was wrong in all cases. I struggle to believe in the good will of people now.

Perhaps my topic would have been better served by simply asking what are you afraid of and why.
