While the Conservative government are preoccupied with their Summer holidays and their self imposed leadership problem 14 small boats were intercepted crossing the channel on Saturday with their 600 plus occupants joining the over 20,000 economic migrants who have arrived so far this year.

The EU courts have so far stopped any migrants being removed to the Rwandan offshore processing center which no doubt gives those making the crossing the incentive to keep on coming , with a free taxi service , free hotel rooms and free money to live on why wouldn't they.

The latest arrivals - who made the dangerous crossing aboard 14 boats - bring this year's total to more than 20,000 people, according to analysis by the PA news agency.

About 60,000 people were expected to cross the Dover Strait in 2022, more than double the figure for 2021.

Over the last few years the Home Office has repeatedly vowed to make the route "unviable", but the numbers have continued to increase: from 1,843 in 2019 to 28,526 in 2021.
news.sky.com...

EU open borders are to blame for this and our continued participation in the EU courts system , not to mention the fact we are a soft touch and the migrants know it.

Meanwhile as full citizens we work full time as still can't make ends meet, with no help with anything and big oil/energy companies robbing us blind. It's a bloody outrage. Maybe those toffs at the top running the show should be housing these illegals in their multiple many bed roomed big fancy estates.

Yep , schools , hospitals and housing authorities all under pressure from years of EU migration and now coming under increasing pressure from growing illegal migration numbers.

Brits out on the streets because of the cost of living crisis while those fresh off the boats are being housed and fed by those of us stupid enough to still be working and paying their way.

This is England.

Seems like we both have illegal immigration problems?

The way this has progressed over the last decade or so,I really can't shake the feeling that the government are not even trying to stop the problem.

Because-can anyone with the money, man power, resources, technology and laws that the government have on their side REALLY be as incompetant as this?

Not anti immigation BTW-but I have to abide by the laws of the land and I expect the same of anyone who comes here.
Otherwise we do not have equality or fairness.

If people need help/asylum we will help you-But if you disregard the laws and "break in" to any country-you should be held to account and deported not given a free hotel and money IMO.

combined with the incoming problems, a zombie economy, and zombie culture throughout the West what happens next sits firmly on the shoulders of an establishment that has taken the worst possible paths for each crisis they have faced.

I'll be surprised if we can get through the next bit with the west ending in the same fate as the soviet block..

all they are in charge of is moving the deck chairs around while the entire structure is run by the grandees and institutions, and the problem for them is they have no idea who they are or what they stand for which is why they take the worst possible approach on ever crisis they face,

I hear ya on that one, but the ones running this clown show don't care coz it doesn't affect them, they can afford to swan about with the best of everything while us peasants are trying really hard to keep the ship afloat. We are getting to the 'need a revolution' stage, much like what is portrayed in the Muse song/video Will of the People (which I personally think is a brilliant song, brilliant lyrics and fantastic video - could almost start a revolution and underground resistance with this)

Will of the People Lyrics:

[Intro]
The will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the
Will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the
Will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the
Will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the

[Verse 1]
Let's push thе emperors into the ocеan
(The will of the people, the will of the people)
(The will of the, will of the)
Don't need a goon to flood with devotion
(The will of the people, the will of the people)
(The will of the, will of the)
With every hour, our number increases
(The will of the people, the will of the people)
(The will of the, will of the)
We'll smash your institutions to pieces
(The will of the people, the will of the people)
(The will of the, will of the)
[Pre-Chorus]
We need a transformation
One we all can see
We need a revolution
So long as we stay free (The will of the, will of the)

[Chorus]
Welcome to the desecration, baby
We'll build you right up, then we'll tear you down
Welcome to the celebration, baby
The judges are jailed and the future is ours

[Verse 2]
Free your sons and unlock your daughters
We'll throw the baby out with the bathwater
With every second, our anger increases
We're gonna smash your nation to pieces
(The will of the people, the will of the people)
(The will of the, will of the)

[Pre-Chorus]
We need a transmutation
One we all conceive
We need a revolution
So long as we stay free (The will of the, will of the)
[Chorus]
Welcome to the desecration, baby
We'll build you right up, then we'll tear you down
Welcome to the celebration, baby
The judges are jailed and the future is ours

[Bridge]
The will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the
Will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the
Will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the
Will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the
Will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the
Will of the people, the will of the sheeple
The will of the, will of the
Will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the
Will of the people, the will of the people
The will of the, will of the

[Chorus]
(The will of the, will of the)
Welcome to the desecration, baby
We'll build you right up, then we'll tear you down
(The will of the, will of the)
Welcome to the celebration, baby
The judges are jailed and the future is ours
(The will of the, will of the)

that's so nice that your country has open borders as well. It's working swimmingly in the USA. Easiest way for terrorists to come into the country and set up shop. No better way to destroy a country than from within. Glad you are part of the cool kids club.

We no longer have open borders since we left the EU but our border is porous due to the ease of crossing the channel from France and the lack of action by the French to stop it , some (including myself) believe they are aiding it. Our "Border Force are a joke as they are little more than a free taxi service these days waiting to pick migrants up when they leave French waters.

Our continued membership of the European court system allows them to dictate what we can and can't do to secure our border , something that needs serious consideration going forward.

The French or any other nation has no obligation to control Uk borders. Deal with it. How's that Brexit working out for you?.

199 900 people illegally entered the EU in 2021. Just for context to your 20 000.
Just as 2 500 miles shoreline in the Mediterranean sea to ca 300 miles in the Dover channel that need protecting.
And there are no open borders with North Africa where these people are crossing from.

Sooooo...
I mean if you guys figure out a way to protect your 300 miles shoreline I'm sure the EU would be interested in buying the concept for its 83 times bigger problem. Alas whining and blaming others (aka the Way of the English) won't fix any issue.

We should be in charge of own immigration policy.
The problem we have is the incompetent and amoral arseholes that infest Westminster.

No adminstration has done anything to stem the flow of both illeal and legal immigrants into this country despite the majority of people being in favour of stricter enforcement of existing legislation.

But at least we are now in the situation whereby a government could actually do something about it if they had the moral fortitude to do so.....that wasn't the case before Brexit.

Do you think things would have been better if we had stayed in the EU?

Tied hands. Once they're in the water it's technically too dangerous for the French authorities to intercept and arrest but due to the nature of the crossing it's instantly upgraded to a rescue operation.

Great game of cat and mouse but the French cats are obviously useless... I mean it's a lot of beach but there's a lot more sea.

I've mentioned it a few times, if they've got any link here chances are they'll eventually get entry. I can't help but think improving access could lessen this a lot considering many are paying £1000s for the privilege of risking their lives... Let's not forget an illegal immigrant in this nation must be paid for because officially they can't work or access the usual avenues a citizen can, it translates as money either way you look at it.

As a nation we have a human rights duty but so do the French, they shouldn't be on the French coast, crossings shouldn't be launched daily. I'd suggest they process their asylum seekers and if any of them seeking merry ol' England and actually have any reasonable links we'll take them? Because we do anyways it's just not the most timely process.

Sanction them till they deal with their asylum seeker backlog lol.

this must be on the WEF Wishlist to have open borders everywhere. I remember about 6 years ago, talking to hard line lefties and even they admitted then that open borders weren't going to work. That changed drastically since then. Now you are racist if you don't support open borders. This is all part of the bigger plan it seems.

not just Westminster it appears to be a top to bottom issue of ideological intransigence just like the issues with water, food, oil, coal and gas.

there is a secondary issue the nimbys in Britain want an open door policy like Germany and it'll create the same pressures risking the collapse of southern Europe, as nimbys none of them want migrants or new homes in their areas so what that means is they have to increase the pressure on the poorest and their already crap services collapsing the UK, bottom line is there won't be anything left for wef, socialism, the grandees, the angevins or whoever wants to collapse the west.. there also won't be any market left for the chinese to sell to..
