Nahh, I'll tell you Gates reasoning. Imagine this:- say he owned all the farm land and he was the only one growing food. Everybody could be ultrarich with gold bars in their pockets but it's been said before "you can't eat gold bars".

I don't remember which rich nut job said "give me control of a countries wealth and I'll control the country", or something like that. He couldn't be further from the truth. He should have said "give me control over a countries food supply and not only will I control the country but I'll have all their gold as well".

Well heck, I BELIEVE in climate change! Why wouldn't I? Things change all of the time, so why wouldn't the climate around this ball of dirt we live in.

What I DON'T believe in is that governments can do a damn thing about it by taking money out of our pockets and squandering it every bit as much as every other penny they have squandered, am squandering, and will squander.

Even if there was even the slightest most remote teeny weenie tiny chance they COULD do anything about it, they are far too incompetent technically and inept at cooperation with anyone outside of their inner circle to have any chance whatsoever of being successful at it. IMHO.

It is like the reality of electric cars. If one cell goes the battery is toast, if it fires up nothing can put it out. If it's damaged finding a carrier is expensive. But it looks good on the surface until you critically think it out. But it does not seem to pass the common sense test much like a lot of things these days. It is at present a self-perpetuating con. They will have experts that will set the charging costs, so the charging of the battery when operating at less than peak efficiency will cost the same. Then the narrative will change when an expert works out the carbon imprint of the carbon cost. Then comes the cost of recycling the battery. Because the actual rest of the car will last a long time. Then whoops the battery changes like the mobile phone.
Then what happens if someone wants to sell a lifetime of carbon footprints, by suicide does the family get the credits? you can see where all this will end up, it's another headed for the con job bin.
That's the trouble with empire building you think you have a plan to suit all, which turns out to suit nobody.
