Isolating Russia isn't going to work unfortunately.
It's already working, the longer this goes on the more they cannot get back what is being pulled from their economy via isolation from the West.
They might be getting uncomfortable but they're nowhere close to desperate or vulnerable.

I actually think it's to force China's hand on the Ukraine conflict; they agree to further isolate Russia and she decides to not make the trip. Just my speculation.

Pelosi's district is San Francisco, not California. She's not a Senator.

Well aware of the fact that San Francisco is a city in California, and that Nancy is not a Senator.
However, as an elected official representing a State with mineral resources that will be vital to China's industrial future, her trip to Taiwan has implication possibilities beyond passing off Xi and his comrades.

Well, one thing is for sure, if China gets its dirty hands on that premier microchip maker on the planet, the world is in big trouble. Just like getting dependent on Russia for oil and gas hurts the EU, imagine CCP gets the power of the MC master Taiwan!
That would be an absolute political and economic disaster for the US and the world. China could blackmail the whole world with such power.
It just proves Intel better get off their fanny and start doing what Taiwan does, or the world will be in trouble once China takes over Taiwan.
