I believe he was referring to Australian requirements to get a DL, not necessarily all over or in the US.

Well more of a presumption to be honest. Didn't realise things had changed that much for you over there. But I still stand by the overall point that it still seems easier and less regulated to get a gun than a car for legal public ownership... at least in some states. U need a licence and registration for a car..
And there is at least a test.

I am more of a shotgun guy but from what I have read, it applies to probably 3/4 of all semiautomatics above .22 cal. It will ban a very large part of all semiautomatic rifles and pistols.

This bill will make the people less protected from all threats, whether form wild animals or home intruders.

Please consider contacting your senators on this as soon as possible to let them know what you think of this.
