Its ever so curious why no one, including R's beg the question of why none of them lead by example as to their personal security...at taxpayer expense. I'm sure we could put a firearm in every Americans hand for that price.

You have to remember, this is democrats we are dealing with. We all know there are no real assault weapons to ban. They are talking about regular rifles, not military grade weapons with select fire capability. When you have people that are all too willing to write a new definition to suit their needs at the drop of a hat, don't be surprised when they say they are trying to ban weapons that are already banned in this country. Those aren't the weapons they are after in the first place. Like Deerfield, Illinois who passed an assault rifle ban that included several different pistols, and shotguns...in an assault rifle ban. They just changed the definition to whatever they wanted to ban and away they went. This revisionist bs has to stop.

Because in my city if you stop at a stop sign you get carjacked. It’s a free for all unless you are strapped.

Seems to be some pretty optimistic people. Because I recall a recent historical even when some people felt cheated out of something as esoteric as an election. And they angrily stormed the Capitol Building and stayed within the velvet ropes, making the people inside the building flee, poop their pants and panic shoot into a crowd.

Now actually stealing something tangible from more than just a few people that see it as outright theft is probably gonna draw a much larger and angrier crowd that seems to be familiar with and has access to firearms. They will feed off each other’s anger and pooping yourself will be the least of your concerns.

But those that do not learn from (very recent) history are doomed to repeat (or be considered) it.

School shootings are not a gun problem, they are a product of the mentally ill. Always have been, always will be.

Whether you get the "doom porn" or not does not matter, this is unconstitutional and that should bother you if you are a US citizen, regardless of your intent to leave or not. It is our RIGHT to keep and bare arms, point blank period. And if you don't like it, I would be happy to come help you pack and drop you off at the nearest border.

We don't fight this just so we can act all big bad and tough with our friends, we fight this so that we don't become what our forefathers fought to disband. We are under attack by the government and this "assault weapons" ban is just the start, the beginning to their uncontested rule over the people of this country.

I am finding the lack of even mention on MSM disturbing. I have been flipping through news channels and almost nothing. Fox mentioned it along with some other bills for a couple of seconds.

It seems they are trying to be mostly silent on this subject.

I would have thought MSNBC or CNN would be announcing it loudly at least occasionally.
