I'm not too sure mate.
I think some of the 'older guard' may view it as their last realistic chance for a run at the top job but some of the young guns may well bide their time.
Whoever succeeds Boris has a real job to do; Brexit to finish, Ukraine, the economy and cost of living crisis, China, trouble brewing the Middle East again, the changing face of American politics, wokery, etcetera etcetera.....oh and The Tribulation, the coming of The Mahdi and Arma#inggeddon!

Still, only four days to go to the first James Webb images, at least some of us will be able to distract ourselves by gazing on in wonder at those!

Blame who you want but the fact is we've taken two big financial hits from situations not related to Brexit ,puppeting "it's the WEF" doesn't change to facts.

The plandemic didn’t force lockdowns on us, and pay people to sit on their arses all day, governments under the instructions of the WEF did that. None of those measures worked btw..

The war in Ukraine didn’t need us to send billions to prop up the Ukraine army in a hopeless cause, Russia will achieve its objectives unless the west want all out ww3.

To pretend the WEF has no influence or machinations in these affairs is at best naive but more likely wanton ignorance. Puppeting the propaganda from the MSM doesn’t cut it for us individuals capable of thinking for ourselves.

Rishi Sunak has announced he will stand for the position he created.

I’m standing to be the next leader of the Conservative Party and your Prime Minister.

Let’s restore trust, rebuild the economy and reunite the country.

How patronising. Banging on about the WEF is just a tedious trend.

Tell me, how was Brexit compatible with the WEF's supposed agenda?

Number 1, Rishi. It's four countries.
Number 2, the other 3 countries are done with the corruption. This government is literally stealing billions from the public purse.
In my lifetime I've never known a government to hand themselves, friends, and donors massive multi-billion pound contracts and they brush it off as if it's normal behavior?. We are witnessing a banana republic, a failed state in action here.

Its always been like that.
In the past it was accepted or they were at least a little bit more discreet about it....this lot have been brazen about how they have done things.

To be fair, most folk use the term "the Country" in a pretty wide sense.

As in "For the good of the Country", and etc.

Other than that, and putting aside issues about Indyref, I agree with you.

A tedious trend? At the start of the pandemic the WEF came out and publicly stated how it was an opportunity to implement “the great reset” and “build back better” and usher in the 4th industrial revolution aresource based economy. When you look into what they mean by this they want to reshape our lives for the worse. Klaus Swaube has even written a book about it.

Brexit and other things have been a spanner in the works, but when they have there young global leaders such as Rishi Sunak in key positions making policy in government it makes little difference as they will go along in “lockstep” with the plans.

You are aware of who the WEF are right? Who attends their summits in Davos and the agenda they want to push in these meetings? Because if not you should look into too, as burying your head in the sand and pretending it’s not a thing won’t make it any less real.

Rishi is not a "global leader", young or otherwise.

He supported Brexit so is no WEF puppet.

And yes, banging on about WEF is, indeed, a tedious trend, your Wokeness, right?

If he’s no WEF puppet why is he a member?

He might of claimied to support Brexit but it’s not like a politician to claim one thing and do another is it?

I was in favour of Brexit is that a woke thing? Is being against corrupt lying governments a woke thing?

Member, yes, puppet? No. He did support Brexit and it got done so there goes your claim.

Banging on about WEF remains a tedious trend. It's the new TPTB.

It got done by the will of the British people despite the majority of the MSM fear mongering and governments own stance that we should remain.

BJ and his ilk were opportunists who used it for their own gains.

Pretending that the WEF doesn’t have major influence and isn’t in fact Representing TPTB is tedious.

If we want to change for the better we don't need a new tory government. We need a new way of thinking and behaving...and we need those bastards who have profited outrageously whilst everyone else is fighting over the crumbs fired into the pokey.

You won't find me disagreeing with any of that.....where we may differ is how we go about achieving that.

Bookies' favourite Ben Wallace has today ruled himself out of the Tory leadership race.

After careful consideration and discussing with colleagues and family, I have taken the decision not to enter the contest for leadership of the Conservative Party. I am very grateful to all my parliamentary colleagues and wider members who have pledged support

It has not been an easy choice to make, but my focus is on my current job and keeping this great country safe. I wish the very best of luck to all candidates and hope we swiftly return to focusing on the issues that we are all elected to address.

Be afraid ... be very afraid !

Liz Truss is to launch her bid to be PM within 24 hours.
😱

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss is expected to announce her bid for Conservative Party leader in the next 24 hours.

The cabinet minister has regularly topped polls of party members carried out by the website Conservative Home and has carefully cultivated her public image.

Ms Truss initially campaigned against Brexit but after the 2016 referendum said she had changed her mind.

She spent the first two years of Boris Johnson's premiership as international trade secretary and was last year appointed as Britain's lead negotiator with the European Union.

Possibly.

But The Tories are infected with this wokery nonsense as well.
I suspect their new leader will tick one or more 'diversity' boxes....obviously as well as being a complete twat.

Boris is/was a darling of the Tory rank and file but for some unfathomable reason he also struck a chord with many traditional working class voters.
If their new leader doesn't do the same the The Tories will lose the vast majority of The Red Wall constituencies that they rely on for their majority.
One of my personal big fears is that this will in turn lead to a SNP supported Labour government and we know what the SNP will demand for this support......

No doubt come the time The Tories will play on those fears.

This leadership election could be pivotal to what direction this country takes in the next decade or even longer.

We've got rid of the buffoon, but....?
