Boris Johnson's UK Government is falling apart!

He's on the ropes and two of his Ministers have just abandoned him.

They're probably getting warmed up to re-enter the ring for a shot at B.J.'s title.

Rishi Sunak resigns as chancellor, saying government should be run 'properly, competently and seriously'

AND

Sajid Javid resigns as health secretary, saying UK needs 'strong and principled Conservative party'

Quotes from The Guardian, but it's a live feed and doesn't really work here long term.

I'll get a proper link soon.

He's on the ropes and two of his Ministers have just abandoned him.

That right there is the knockout blow , Johnson is out for the count no way back.

The chancellor, who quit moments after Mr Javid, said: "The public rightly expect government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously. I recognise this may be my last ministerial job, but I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning."

I imagine Sunak will be setting up his office in preparation for his bid for the top job.

This doesn't sound well for Boris

news.sky.com...

Chancellor Rishi Sunak and health secretary Sajid Javid have resigned from Boris Johnson's government.

The chancellor, who quit moments after Mr Javid, said: "The public rightly expect government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously. I recognise this may be my last ministerial job, but I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning."

In his letter to the PM, Mr Javid said: "It is with enormous regret that I must tell you that I can no longer, in good conscience, continue serving in this government. I am instinctively a team player but the British people also rightly expect integrity from their government.

The tone you set as a leader, and the values you represent, reflect on your colleagues, your party and ultimately the country.

"Conservatives at their best are seen as hard-headed decision-makers, guided by strong values. We may not have always been popular, but we have been competent in acting in the national interest.

"Sadly, in the current circumstances, the public are concluding that we are now neither.

Yep, and election of new 1922 Committee next week could see a change to the No Confidence vote being able to be done sooner than the traditional 12 months wait.

Oooh, that would free up BJ to go fight for his best buddy in Ukraine... Driving a new shiny JCB.

The Johnson faithful are circling the wagons.

Following their resignations, several cabinet ministers said they will not be doing so. They include: Justice Secretary Dominic Raab, Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng, Home Secretary Priti Patel, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Attorney General Suella Braverman and International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan

I wonder who will be next to jump.

Maybe the others just want a Commons front row seat for the spectacle.

I can't wait for PMQs tomorrow. If Johnson wants to make a dramatic exit, that's the place to do it, live on TV; ruffle his hair, throw a tantrum, tell everyone to eff off. Then invite everyone for a leaving do at No. 10 and house burning party. BYOB... I hope he remembers to take the gold wallpaper with him.

As long as he doesn't leave Carrie behind to take his place he can do what the hell he wants as long as he goes.

She had an influence that far exceeded any that of any other PM's partner that I know of and has a very inflated opinion of herself.
I wouldn't be that surprised if she fancied a career in politics herself.....if she thinks she can at some time get The Big Job.

Boris? Well, as Mayor back in 2013 he said this...

London Mayor Boris Johnson has described the World Economic Forum as a "a constellation of egos involved in orgies of adulation".

Link to BBC
Then there was this in January 2020....

Boris Johnson has banned his Cabinet from attending Davos, telling them they should be focused on delivering for the people of the UK.

ITV link
Also, on WEF site, the last entry for Boris was when he was Mayor, as opposed to both Shunak and Javid are up to date.

I am in no way defending Boris, but there are things in the background that make you go hmmmmm.....

The man has more lives than a cat and should have been removed long ago.

As to who would replace him, i don't have a clue as they are all as bad as one another or so it seems.
