I like my meat, mostly good local aged beef and fish. But I won't ever go on a carnivour diet, if I eat too much meat, I get some problems.

A lot of people benefit from the different diets because they are eliminating something they are metabolically intolerant to. It is not easy to figure out these things but I have done it over the late fifteen years, I wish I would have done this when I was in my twenties. It took a long time to figure out what food chemistries I should avoid, heck, just verifying the banana as being a problem when I learned of it's cross reactivity took over a year....cooked bananas in banana bread are not a problem though. Most people would give up the potatoes, but the cross reaction is not just to potatoes, all nightshades and lots of root veggies are on that side...just the banana, kiwi, and avacado are on one side of the cross reactivity. By the time I finish a banana I am coughing anyway, I guess that should have given me a clue.

Actually, when I was a kid in the early fifties, we rarely ate the foods that trigger my metabolic problems, customs of diet passed on for generations kept my relatives from having problems, but in the late sixties society changed and lots of foods started getting touted as healthy...which were actually not for my genetic line. Old enough to remember that.

Bah, I loathe counting calories or macros or any of that garbage

Maybe not but as a body builder i have to maximize my Macros to achieve peak results

Its not about counting calories, actually calories arent even factored into macros, and knowing what your macros should be and how they change allows you to literally eat whatever the fk you want, and to me thats the most liberating

Firstly I said he should get his Bloods ran before committing to a high Protein Diet , Point being so long as his Kidney GFR's are with in healthy range a High protein diet is fine even considered healthy .

but if for some reason his Kidneys are not functioning normally then committing to a all meat diet which is effectively a Pure Protein diet can be toxic and send his Kidney's over the edge.

This is ABSOLUTELY correct, glad to see someone else with experience

Tasnstaafl is a smart person but sometimes they think they know more about a subject than those who actually do it for a living

yes im a competitive body builder, but im also a trainer, and sports nutritionist, though I started as a Clinical Nutritionist after the military, I found my niche training others wanting to transform their lives

A diet high in saturated fat is unhealthy for most people. It creates issues for the heart and arteries.

You can get plenty of fats without going so extreme. Thats why many doctors started unreccomending coconut oil. Despite the high nutritional valie, it has a ton of saturated fat (like meat) and can cause issues.

Even if you need a high fat diet, id find any doctor hard-pressed to reccomend the fad carnivore diet.

The high fat is also offset by no carbs, so you need energy from some where. I remember the high carb diets of the 80s...lol As to coconut oil I use MCT when I fast, put like a table spoon in my coffee. Typically when you see a high fat content it also means a high carb content too, and those together is what you are talking about. That form of eating, which is the most common, creates massive spikes of insulin and that is what causes all your issues.

italian place i worked at in the 80's use to have all the bike racers, mountain and others come in before the race and carb up on pasta to where we'd do an all you can eat pasta for the racers with their entry number.
my diet could be better i'm about 30 lbs over ideal.

Melony mac (Used to do PR for Razer) is also on this diet and she also has videos on her second channel that i am about to link in where she talks about this diet:

In this one she talks about how veganism is a scam and goes into a lot of detail about it and she talks about the carnovire diet and how it changed everything for her as well. She herself also tried veganism btw or vegetarian, one of the 2.

There are tons of videos of ex vegans and vegetarians resolving ALL of their health issues very quickly when going carnivore.

There are literally ZERO videos of ex carnivores resolving any health issues at all by going vegan/vegetarian.

The only reason that people going vegan/vegetarian actually get better for a while when they start is because of what they eliminate from their diet (mostly sugar and processed foods) as opposed to what they are eating.

Also, proper regenerative farming practices can actually save the planet, and lots of furry animals, unlike veganism/vegetarianism, which kills far more animals that cattle ranching could ever hope to.

Correct. All of that is also addressed in that last video i posted from Melony Mac. She hits and goes into detail on all of these points.

Also with pics from vegans compared to people who have adopted the carnivore diet since a few decades. It is amazing how 60 year old people still look like they are in their 30's.

Now look up Robert downey junior from 2 years ago from before his vegan diet to now. You will be shocked.

If you are going to burn it why not. Today they squirt gel packs as they ride since their only limitation is getting energy into them. If they feed themselves as they ride they can ride high end for days.

But that is not what we do as we eat 90% of our diet as processed carbs. Add beer on top and things with a ton of sugar and there isn't much left for anything good. My boys grew up in an Asian lifestyle, so we are talking a ton of rice with meats, low sugar mainly for them, and they are strong, low fat and healthy.

The question to those against something like this is what is better 90% real meat, or 90% processed carbs?

The Inuits do live on a mostly meat and fat diet. At the same time, the animals they live on have to have a complete diet in what they eat and store that. We're talking very fishy blubber!

I am high fat, high protein, low carb. It got 50 pounds off before I started in on the exercise.

This is another myth, but you'll have to figure that out for yourself.

Dr. Chaffee hardle ever works out, and look at his physique.

I know, I just included them as the 'any of that garbage', but yeah, that wasn't crystal clear, sorry about that.

It actually isn't, with some rare exceptions, but someone with late stage kidney disease can turn it around by going carnivore, many have done so.

That said, I am not a Doctor, yadda yadda yadda, and obviously we each have to make our own choices.

Tasnstaafl is a smart person but sometimes they think they know more about a subject than those who actually do it for a living

I agree, which is why I listen to those who specialize in t hese kinds of things, like Dr. Jason Fung (nephrologist from Canada). He is actually the one who I first learned about insulin resistance from, which was the missing link in my 30+ year long fat loss journey.

for the experts,

what do you think about a high protein diet like this?

i use a whey protein powder in oats and dried fruit and some nuts smoothies or on oat cereal with milk, smoothies i use green tea as liquid, just about every day

i eat a lot of yoghurt too.

i don't get to exercise much either.

is it bad?

To be honest. for me a zero carb meat diet is not in the cards. You would need your whole household to be in on it and mine is not as it is mainly an Asian subculture of eating. I'm more a full fasting person for 4 days and low carb for 3, I actually like to fast so it is not a burden. I also do like nuts and cheeses. I also cheat with some whiskey and beer too.
