Hearing right now from the police themselves what it was like helps me understand it so much more than the videos do though.

"Patriots"
lol. The cops let them in. The Capitol Police are in several images and videos dressed up as protesters and carrying confederate flags.
January 6th was a trap and many were stupid enough to fall for it.
There were no congressional hearings on the riots of 2020 that I recall.
Shortly after Floyd’s murder on May 25, 2020, Democrats introduced the “George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020” to improve police oversight and training and to restrict tactics such as chokeholds and use of excessive force.
The bill passed the House twice, but died in the Senate
The early summer protests, riots, and sporadic uprisings resulted in over 10,000 arrests nationwide. The FBI later expanded that number to more than 13,600 (as of June 6, 2020).

We all know there was no insurrection on Jan 6th.
Maybe the real question/conspiracy is , which congressmen are secretly part of those groups?

Which riots were those?
Do you mean the George Floyd riots?

Ivan Harrison Hunter, a Texas rightwing extremist, bragged about helping to set the fire then was seen shooting 13 rounds at the building
The case also reveals the extent of the coordination between violent members of the nascent far-right “Boogaloo Bois” movement operating in different cities across the country.Video shot that night shows a person later identified as Hunter firing 13 rounds from a semiautomatic assault-style rifle on the 3rd precinct police station while people believed to be looters were inside. He then high-fived another person and shouted, “Justice for Floyd!” according to the complaint.
Later, he privately messaged Steven Carrillo, another alleged “Boogaloo Boi” in California, urging him to “go for police buildings”, according to the federal criminal complaint.
Any hearings on that?
What is a Congressional Hearing?
A hearing is a meeting or session of a Senate, House, joint, or special committee of Congress, usually open to the public, to obtain information and opinions on proposed legislation, conduct an investigation, or evaluate/oversee the activities of a government department or the implementation of a Federal law.
