Russia should come and take it with their world class military.

Seriously, all Russia could do is perhaps hit a few places with a nuke or 2, and enjoy that for a few minutes, till the rest of the world started planting mushrooms all over the Motherland.

besides, I wonder if there is a Russian equivalent to our American expression

Possession is 9/10ths of the law

WELL I should like to point out a glaring fact.

There is PROBABLY no formal or legally binding agreement with the NATIVE people's of Alaska with EITHER Nation and a petty tribal chieftain of a single village would not reasonably have that authority either.

Still what do I know.

But yes it was an odd move by Russia but DID THEY EVER RECIEVE MONEY FOR IT? from the US as the argument is not about who really owns that land (Which is GOD not the bloody Devil) but rather about a contract between two foreign invaders claiming the same already occupied territory.

On a side note though Russia is probably no longer spoken there in Alaska there ARE some old Believer villages, the Old Believers as our host knows are a branch of the Russian Orthodoxy whom refused to accept a reformation during which the Russian version of the Church was brought back into line with the Greek Orthodoxy on many of it's rules but had by that point already established it's own unique traditions, the Old Believers are Russian Orthodox that stick to those old belief's and traditions regardless of if they are correct or not.

And of course there were several community's of Russian orthodox in Alaska including Old Believers whom if I recall settled there MUCH later, as late as the 1960's in fact, the previous Russian settlers were fairly few in number however.
www.history.com...

But it is also worth remembering that we are one human race, every one of us at some point in the past shares an ancestor and most of us share MANY ancestors.

Bob moved away from his brother Fred, Bob had a bit of a pug nose while Fred had big ears.

Several generations later the two tribes argue over who has right to a piece of land and who has the correct pronunciation and it snow ball's from there.

In Croatia and Serbia they are the same exact people, they hate one another after arguing over whether to use Latin or Cyrillic and it spiralled from there to a point of evil during WW2 where men from both sides would get little children to make the sign of the cross on themselves in order to find out if they were Orthodox of Catholic and then they would often murder the child of the other religious group, the Catholic's of Croatia sided with the NAZI's because they had more hatred for there first cousin's the Orthodox Serbs and VICE VERSA.

Under Tito (who was strong enough NOT to let himself be used by either side during the cold war) they were forced to live together and forgot there differences more or less until the break up of the Yugoslav Federation after his death, one that was sadly sparked not by the people but by there leaders, Serbia is now rabidly pro Russian because of this same sectarian divide.

That is in the south as far as Russia is concerned but.

In the EAST they have always warred but thousands of years ago many lost and now unresearched and forgotten civilizations once crammed the now unpopulated east of Russia Goth's, the Hun's, the Mongols all came through destroying civilizations as they went.

But our own ENGLISH and the GERMAN Languages may have there true origin in what is today central and eastern Russia.

Every hear of a people called the Hittite whom once conquered as far as Egypt and set up a great empire,.

Famous for introducing Iron to the middle east they arrived with it probably from part of what is today central Russia as either migrants (or refugees from another tribal migration that may have destroyed there former and lost civilization) and conquered and conquered and set up there civilization until mixing the locals and infighting that led to a civil war finally ended there civilization.

Well the Hittite though they adopted the Sumerian Cuneiform alphabet are now known to have spoken a language that was pretty similar to English, Dutch and German.

So Russian Troll, mind getting off our land and giving it all back to us?.

Seriously we are one race, HUMANITY.

Well that's a bit apathetic.

What's up, can Vladimir not get his skates on?

It's going to take that long to get the T-14 ready and the Soviet Smokeski carrier back in action.

Hmmmmm....not so fast:

Leaking oil for a year and snapped arresting wires???!!!

Well, that's not passing its next MOT.

She was going everywhere accompanied by a tug boat as well if memory serves down to engine and power failure.

Another piece of antiquated Russian equipment that's apt to end up at the bottom of the ocean given half a chance.

It's a long post.

Is the bottom line here the Russian Navy wants to catch crab in the Bering Straight instead of making reefs in the Black Sea?

We Americans are shaking in our boots over here fearing a ground war with Russia after your current and ongoing and ongoing and ongoing and ongoing and ongoing performance.

I think you are jealous because you can’t even take the Aleutian Islands. How many of those do you own? 6? Hahahahaha. Good luck.
