Seriously, I can think of absolutely nothing at all that has been prevented by the 2nd amendment.

But their semi-automatic and hunting rifles and handguns prevent tyrannical governments from using the largest and most up to date fighting force in the world from imposing autocratic rule....

And THE CONSTITUTION.....

I understand that Americans relationship with guns is a lot more engrained and deeper than any other country I can think of and I think it would be absolute insanity to introduce UK style gun control laws over there......but what they have simply isn't working and there seems to be a reluctance in some quarters to acknowledge that and to even consider that something needs doing.

Going to explain this slowly. There are more guns in America than people. Even with cooperation you cannot gather them all. Even if you got 99.99% there could be up to 44,000 guns still out there. And they would not be in the hands of those that were cooperative about being rid of them.

That's for psychiatrists and psychologists to determine, mental health specialists, when people apply for such weaponry, or decide to try and purchase such Ahabstar.

The Second Amendment and proliferation of guns has kept quite a number of shall we say the more hand wringing Euros from coming to America and telling us how to do things…like Merkel. Heck Trump alone scared her off pretty well. All her trips here were business, not sightseeing.
