It all depends on the .223 cartridge, how many grains and such. A .223 round can pack a severe impact provided the right charge in the cartridge round.

All it's going to take is enough non-thinking Republicans to 'go along to get along' in passing a law to ban 'assault rifles'. There are plenty of RINO's to help push the agenda, with more coming in November- because people are too lazy to do their homework and research candidate's past history.
Once that law is passed, it will continually be amended to include other calibers and styles of weapons- like semi-auto pistols.

What requirements, pray?? There are already several hundred federal, state, and local laws regarding the purchase, and possession of firearms by citizens--the vast majority of whom are completely, maybe at times too much so, law abiding. Many of those regulations are utterly redundant. So what further regulations would you suggest, that isn't already done??

How about, instead, enforce the already, in many cases, draconian rules and regulations...? Or, here's a novel suggestion, work on solving the real problem. Mental health.
