the British press is so funny, in its degree of inadequacy it can only compete with the famous "British scientists". Here are the headlines taken from a column by Con Coughlin, Telegraph Defense Editor and Chief Foreign Affairs Columnist. Moreover, all headings can be collected from one page. You can clearly see how the thinking (if it can be called thinking) is changing in the star and ruler of the minds of ordinary Britons.








You know, when I read this, I thought that this was a fictitious imitation of the editorials of the newspapers of the times of Napoleon, taken from the book of Academician Tarle.

First news: "The Corsican monster has landed in the Bay of Juan."
The second news: "The cannibal goes to Grasse."
Third news: "The usurper entered Grenoble."
The fourth news: "Bonaparte has occupied Lyon."
Fifth news: "Napoleon is approaching Fontainebleau."
Sixth news: "His Imperial Majesty is expected today in his faithful Paris."

And I won’t be at all surprised if the following article by Con Coughlin appears: “Russian troops advance in a cowardly and panicked manner, and the valiant Ukrainian army heroically flees and bravely surrenders.”)))

Most ordinary Britons just wish to see Russia get their arse kicked back across the border and Ukraine be free of the Russian invasion.

What Putin wants, and what Putin gets, is apt to be more than he bargained for.

I get western propoganda but you just say how bad the west is and never criticize russia. No one is going to take you seriously.

I dont think there is as much support for Ukraine as you think.

I dont know anybody from here that wants Russia to prevail.

They are in the wrong postcode you see and Putin tells porky pies and invades peaceful neighbors under the false pretense of hunt the Nazi when what he's really all about is a simple land-grab in an attempt to return his piss-poor nation to some kind of semblance of the former USSR.

Most dont care and are more concerned about rising prices.

Prices are obviously a concern, but Putin's invasion of Ukraine, holding up grain shipments, and denying gas and energy to his customers because they don't share the same draconian totalitarian autocrat view as himself don't help matters.

As for the British press, its a joke and just a mouthpiece of the government, propaganda.

British press may indeed leave a lot to be desired but what's Russia's claim to fame in that department?

They don't have any free press or channels on-air left standing.

Freedom to Ukraine and down with Putin's war and invasion.

This may be an extremely unpopular opinion, but I think we've made this war much worse than it needed to be by giving billions to Ukraine. As I said months ago, it was very obvious Russia had more military power, and the only reason Ukraine has lasted this long is because the west has given them billions of dollars.

Obviously I think it's a bad thing when any nation decides to invade another nation and take territory from them, but it seems pretty obvious most of Eastern Ukraine is pro-Russian anyway. Without western support many regions in East Ukraine would have quickly surrendered, it would have been a quick and swift operation without massive casualties.

But by fueling this war with billions of dollars we have ensured a long and protracted war which will do large amounts of damage to Ukraine and Russia, both in terms of infrastructure and economically. Isolating Russia from the rest of the world, a nuclear super power, and one of the key players in the space sector, is not a good thing.

The world is headed down a very dangerous path, but I certainly think a lot of the blame also falls onto Putin. It's a very sad situation for all innocent people involved on both sides, that's why I mostly avoid talking about this issue. Good thread though, I always gets a good laugh when I see the mainstream narrative crumbling.

Apparently 'most' doesn't include nearly all governments on the planet not named russia or ccp, or located in Africa?

Believe it or not, the dude was not always like that.

Used to be able to get sense out him, a bit of banter, some not bad half-decent crack before he seemingly went completely over to the dark side.

Preferred his oldies to the 100% Russian propaganda he seems to post these days put it that way.

Zelensky became a multi-millionaire on a presidents salary, thanks to 3 benefactors who generously gifted him with huge monthly 'donations'.

Zelensky bought a 34 million dollar mansion in Florida, USA the day the 'invasion' started and transferred millions into an off-shore account.

Do people not want to see, or do they just not care?

I see a lot of citizens who love their country more than life itself, and a lot of politicians who love their money more than any human life but their own.

I don't think any country on the planet has a monopoly on corruption or propaganda; it seems to be equally shared, and what makes the world go round these days.

Are you saying some of those headlines are wrong, or what do you mean? I'm not sure what triumph he's talking about, but I applaud him for urging more weapons to be sent. It's the best way to shorten this war.
