Lack of fertilizer to grow field corn to make ethanol to add to gasoline scam. If they can’t grow bumper corn crops will this finally end the bs ethanol program?

That is an issue. A lot of the food the rest of the world eats comes from the Midwest of the US. We here have small plots of land if we own a half acre that can sustain a garden. People in the cities with no lot lines are going to start stocking now I believe.

So where do all the parts for military vehicles come from? if they are from China as well, then they are stuffed, if not they must ramp things up for civilian supply if they don't they are the problem.

Military equipment is safe for now. Many of the things in the US military are made by the Military Industrial Complex. We still make the best war machines.

Yeah, that's the best plan ever. Can't keep the food trucks on the road because, shortage of parts don't you know. BUT enough parts to keep the military vehicles rolling. That's called prioritizing.

I think nationwide average US gas prices are about where they peaked in ~ 2009.

But in SF Bay area they have climbed way above the former peak, and are close to $6 a gallon at most places around me.

We haven't stopped preparing since Covid. In fact, my neighbors are making me nervous because a few have been scoping us out. We have a massive garden and we having been planting a d harvesting fruits and what not. What our neighbors don't know, we have guns and a ton of ammo, and an alarm system. So, we catch anyone stealing from us, we will call.the cops. End of story.

There will always be truckers that go out of business. Probably because there are so many of them. A bit more than actual demand (which has remained about the same, while trucks have gotten bigger and more numerous). At some point, something's got to give.

Here's an idea, perhaps go and look at how many large trucks there are on any bit of major roadway, and consider what used to be there a couple of years ago. Perhaps look at some old footage of traffic jams of the past, to compare.

The 'electronic chip' shortages are temporary. Every IT manufacturer is gearing up again to take maximum advantage of a market crying out for their products.

And fuel prices get shuffled on to the end consumers if the trucking companies are passable businessmen.

I live down a gravel road and just had a vehicle stolen off my property about three weeks ago. It was one of my best vehicles. Yes, I left the keys on the console. But, first time it's ever happened in this very local, locale. But, around these parts there were 3 other cars stolen in the same weekend and two weeks before, 2 more cars were stolen which no one around here was aware. Now we are. So, in my 44 years of unlocked cars and often leaving keys in the console, I had a vehicle stolen due to my own carelessness. Regardless, the insurance paid off on the vehicle after 7 days, letting me know that leaving your keys in the car thankfully does not negate the claim.

I just ordered some driveway alarms (which can be placed anywhere within the accepted range of the unit) that I'm going to put around the property. I got a system that can have multiple sensors to one receiver but can also have additional receivers and even more sensors. Going to be putting them up next week or so. Problem is, we literally have deer EVERYWHERE and since we haven't hunted for years, we are kind of a safe habitat for them. I'm hoping they don't constantly set off the sensors if I've placed them in a bad location. It may be pretty interesting around here for awhile lol.

The thing is, things are going to get much more serious about protecting assets because people will be more desperate. Desperation causes good people to do bad things and I can't say I blame them necessarily but we all need to be on guard and know what we are willing to do in order to protect our property and ourselves. It is a serious conversation we need to have with ourselves and our families.

You seem to have three choices, you can be dependent, you can steal what you need, or you can make what you need. It seems to be in three stages of the lowest energy output. The correct choice is a no-brainer.

I work in a school kitchen and you wouldn't believe the items we can no longer get. We work around it. Sometimes it's pretty difficult. Like when we couldn't get pasta or cereal or fresh carrots.

I am a prepper and I don't shop often. I may hit the local small grocery store every couple of weeks for a few items but that's about it. I work 17 miles from where I live in a rural area. I get a free meal daily at the school and the food is exceptional. Hot home cooked style, good food really. So I can't attest to some of the claims I have seen. In the major cities, it's a whole different world. That's why I'm always saying to get out of the cities, even the suburbs and move to rural areas where there is little to no crime, people watch each others back and people work together.

In rural areas, you see the people in your neighborhood often. At the grocery store, library, gas station, coffee shop, doctors office, church. You really 'know' the members of your community. You feel their pain when they become ill or lose a loved one. Their joy when they marry, have children, get a new job. You know each other much more intimately because it is a small community and you can choose the level of socializing that you wish to participate. And fortunately or not, there are few secrets. I have lived and worked in large cities and when I was a young adult it was fun. I didn't have a care in the world. But as I got older, my point of view changed as did my priorities, so did my my lifestyle and I went back to what I was accustomed to growing up as a child until I graduated from high school. Big cities now make me nervous and it's usually only done to take someone to the airport or to see a medical specialist. Both of which are far and few between, like once every few years or even more.

It isn't perfect and it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it is mine and I will deeply inhale and relish every second I can.

Back to covid doom porn , meanwhile the country is falling apart and it is being done intentionally . Even Bidumb can't get this much wrong , are we being punished for not voting for Hillary ? I don't know the reason but the results are a perfect storm and the useless Republicans are doing nothing about it . Good luck everyone , the next few years are going to be tough .

We don't order anything, our DCs send us what they want. They don't like to take the hit when something expires, so they unload it on us. We are donating several pallets of food a week because we can't sell it before it goes out of date. We had to rent a reefer to store frozen food in because we are out of freezer space, and it's now almost full.

Well that's not a grocery model that would show shortages. It would be very difficult to use that to determine whether ordinary grocery stores are having shortages. The ones I am aware of use inventory software and order based on need/expectations.

Hard to eat if you can't defend the food sources or have anyone alive to run the farms. Ask Europeans how that has worked out for them to have all these armies over the eons raping and pillaging.

This whole lack of fertilizer issue just happened because Russia banned both imports and exports why are some surprised that there are many having issues?

These sanctions against Russia is impacting the agriculture, trade.

For how long can it sustain both ends?

Mabey that was the whole point of the conflict. Not a lot coming from China, and no fertilizer from Russia. If Russia just stopped exports it would look like a controlled assault, Chinas lockdowns have stalled all shipping in Shanghai strange coincidences are occurring.

And yep, yawn all you want. It's not maybe...or sometime. It's NOW! Read the room....er, you know.

I keep hearing the term "it's unimaginable that". Most recently, Ted Cruz says "It's unimaginable that a Justice would have leaked the Roe v Wade Opinion!".

The world is heading in a direction where NOTHING should surprise anyone. NOTHING.

Whether it's Putin launching a Nuke in retaliation for Biden killing Russians, or that TRUMP allowed Vaccine manufacturers to make us sicker, so the medical industry and stocks can make more money.

EVERY HUMAN IS CAPABLE OF EVERY ATROCITY - Approach life with that mindset and you will never harbor "It's Unimaginable that" thoughts.

To all the anti-preppers and naysayers

Who are these people? Is anyone really ever ANTI-'preparation'?

I think most people of this planet would agree that preparation is a normal, neutral or good thing to do. You have to often prepare for all kinds of things; a trip to the other side of the world requires a lot of preparation, even a visit to your local dentist requires some kind of preparation.

Are 'anti-preparationists' really a thing (or what do you mean by 'anti-preppers' - I don't like this kind of shortening of words, because it can be confusing and misleading language)?

I think people you are talking about might be the group that's psychologically allergic to excessive obsession or insanity of sorts, fear-based people are rarely rational.

We have been promised we don't have to worry, so 'preppers' (whatever this really means) seem to be anti-goodness, anti-spirituality and anti-Creator that takes care of us.

Just because someone trusts their Creator to take care of them doesn't mean they're anti-anything. Some people might be using this type of language to emphasize their point and bring an one-sided view so they can paint their 'opponents' (imagined or otherwise) with a broad brush.

Just because someone is not 'preparing', doesn't mean they're 'anti-preppers'. I guess people who do 'prepping', are desperately waiting for the elusive moment in the imagined future, where they can stand up, point their finger and scream victoriously, "I told you so!", and feel vindicated somehow.

In my opinion, 'prepping' is not worth it. First of all, you're calling the Cosmic Messenger a liar. Secondly, any and every incarnation that had a beginning, must have an end. In other words, 'we all have to die some time' (although death only exists for the temporary, that is to say, the physical body), and no amount of 'prepping' can spare you. You are going to die anyway.

What difference does it make if you die 10 later in a more miserable circumstances motivated by fear, paranoia and selfish greed? Why would that be a desirable goal anyway? It's like those 'survivalists' that build nuclear shelters - would they really want to survive in a horrible world like that? (I am not even going to go into the 'are nukes real'-argument this time)

Every life has its natural course, but 'preppers' are trying to forcibly guide it to a certain direction - their motivation is not peace, love, helping humanity or humility, they're not motivated by self-sacrifice and making others happy. They are motivated by paranoia, fear and selfish greed - the typical 'hoarder' mentality, instead of just letting go, which is the magic of the divine.

P.S. 'SHTF has arrived' makes no sense, if I understand the acronym correctly. Something hittin the fan can't arrive, because it's an event that's supposed to either happen or not. You could say Something HAS hit the fan, or the fan has arrived, or the Something has arrived into the fan, etc., but saying "Something hit(ting) the fan has arrived" is just illogical, wrong and a weird thing to say in any case, and doesn't really work on any level, really.

What's the difference between Russia and China stopping their exports to the US and allies, and Trump's economically isolated America?

Blaming all of this on the current phucktard in charge is another dodge by the repunklicans to admit that their greed is a big part of the problem. Lying about the GDP and giving the wealthy another huge tax break is just how the repunklicans like it. Screw the poor and the working class whilst propping up the corporate welfare whores needlessly. I don't side with demonrats, or repunklicans! I work hard and pay a great deal of taxes, just to hear about tax breaks for the oligarchs and the investment class. Your white tears are pitiful! Get a grip you whiny little chumptards! There are but two parties now; Patriots, and Traitors!
