They're desperate to normalize eliminating fossil fuels from uncontrolled purchases.

THIS ... is the Green Threat.

This is the problem with government all size fits all decrees, the bigger the government the bigger the cock up. God forbid if they get a global government the cock up will be horrendous. The useful idiots are cutting their own throats now, it is best to withdraw and let them get on with it.

This isn't coming from the government, it's coming from the manufacturer. It's just them trying to push people to buy upgrade to the latest version of their product.

Greed isn't unique to the left.

im sorry but that idea isnt logical

tractor companies have been more than able to sell/push people to buy upgrades.

IMO it is either "encouragement" (be direct or with incentives or both) from the government , "encourgagement" from "green energy" groups, wanting to be "woke" or a combination of all three.

It's perfectly logical, fuel prices are going up and the environment is in the news a lot, so manufacturers are heavily pushing EVs. It's happening with non agricultural vehicles as well.

It's a big company leaning on farmers to buy a new model, this kind of thing happens all the time, it's just that his year EVs are in fashion. A couple of years back it was GPS, was that the Democrats as well?

It has nothing to do with fossil fuels or climate and everything to do with destroying the U.S. from within. Exactly where many have predicted the threat would come from. Internal, not external.

looks like Joey is going after the military too...

"In the United States military, every vehicle is going to be climate friendly. We're spending billions of dollars to do it," the president said to applause during a speech at Seattle’s Seward Park. “Every vehicle. No, I mean it.

So let me understand this correctly; "sources on Facebook" say John Deere wants to devastate their brand name by pushing farm equipment they know wont work on farms?

Why do I find it hard to believe these "sources on Facebook"?

The only way for mass awakening is for their corruption and ineptness to be SHOWN and not just told.

The left continues to produce slot of republicans. Enjoy the show.

At least 81 million idiots think this is a good idea.

But they're the same morons that think asphalt is a form of hemorrhoids.

I just picture the typical leftist sitting naked on a butchers block pounding finishing nails into their scrotum and blaming the hammer.

There is no sort of substantiated link in the OP? A quick search does show Deere wants to get into some electrification, small tractors, drones for spraying etc. Also electrification does not mean only batteries. It also appears that they are looking into a continuously variable transmission with an electro-mechanical power split. So a hybrid basically.

Until a direct link with the claims in the OP are provided, it's hard to say.

I'm still waiting for them to demonstrate that this is a directive pushed down from the Democrats.

Sound more like a company pressuring a customer into upgrading to the latest model. Which is quite common in a lease hire environment.

Local electric company is going electric backhoes because it makes sense. They never run 8 hours straight generally 1 or 2 hours out of an 8 hour shift. Diesels sit there and idle hours on end. Electric are going with a movement of a lever. They figure they will get 2-3 of the standard lifetimes out of them. Same with hydro units. Tractors and combines I can't see it.

Anyone proposing these ridiculous things should have to work in the fields for 2 years to see what they are suggesting and exactly how ridiculous it is.

Also, John Deere WAS a great American company but boy have they changed. They don’t want anyone to OWN any part of their products.

It isn't a one to one replacement. The diesel tractor will be replaced by many smaller battery powered tractors.

Go to their website and see their statements and commitment to "Diversity Equity & Inclusion".

If those are the best people for their jobs then by all means hire them. But I need reliable equipment that won't bankrupt me, more than I need diversity statements. And when a machine shuts down at a critical moment, and my only option is to call dealer service, inclusion won't help.

Maybe they'll switch their corporate color from green to lavender in the near future.

They have been screaming about his global climate warming poop for going on 30+ years. If it was as bad as they say it was going to be why didn't they start the change from oil to renewables then?

They are milking this for everything they can get. The sad thing is that they are not done.

They are messing with the production of food crops that feed people and livestock... all in the name of their "green dream." Look for the cost of your box of cornflakes to triple in the next 24 months.....

Sooooo glad that I no longer eat anything derived from plants. Cows only need grass.

That said, they are also going after meat production separately, so it isn't like I have nothing to worry about.

this is completly silly statement wrapped in a small kernal of truth. yes companies (alot) are heavily pushing EV.. because (wait for it) THEY ARE GETTING INCENTIVES FINANCIALLY to do so along with push from "green energy" groups (wackos IMO). outside of EV from the ground up (and even them) cant commercially survive on their own without taxpayer support. as for the "fuel prices going up" how REALISTICALLY/ ECONOMICALLY does this solve this? the vehicle costs HUNDRED if not more thousands of dollars, the tech IS NOT PERFECTED YET FOR AGRICULTURAL USE, and the infrastructure from charging stations , distribution grids, to JUST BASIC POWERPLANT OUTPUT is not up to the task. so again how is the "farmer" (in this case) saving any money again?

It's a big company leaning on farmers to buy a new model, this kind of thing happens all the time, it's just that his year EVs are in fashion. A couple of years back it was GPS, was that the Democrats as well?

wow.. what mental gymnastics with a healthy dose of "one of these things is not like the other" comment.. first they ALWAYS been trying to get (and succeding) farmers to "buy a new model".. did they suddenly run out of new, profitable, diesel equipment? um NO THEY HAVENT. nor has farmers not been BUYING new equipment all this time.. EV are NOT IN FASHION FOR FARM EQUIPMENT.. in fact i cant find ANY SUPPORT at the FARMER/CUSTOMER level..so who outside of those FORCING/DEMANDING we all use "ev for the enviroment" is the call FROM THE CONSUMER FARMER for this? let me help you ... NONE..

As for the GPS could you get anymore "one of these things is not like the other" assinine comment? GPS is a SMALL self powered and off the vehilce powered device that has been available for decade or more.. the "farm" one is same unit just now part of tractor instrumentation (or add on) with specialty software tailored to needs of a farmer.. also been available for a long time.. it also uses a battery that is NO WHERE NEAR like an EV battery system . if it goes down you can still farm and weighs what a pound max? something NOT PUSHED AS GREEN ENERGY in any way.. nor pushed by the democrats and that comment is by far the most assinine one you have done on this post..

im sorry but trying to claim this is what the farmers asked for and that GPS is the same as a muli ton tractor is not helping your case but letting it stand one of the best reasons why "green energy/EV farm equipment" supporting people are OFF THEIR ROCKERS.

Uhuh we will see if in a year you still feel the same way when you cant get what you normally are use to having

You people are ALWAYS wrong when it comes to stuff like this, at what point do you not self reflect a bit and say "Well obviously im always wrong about these outcomes, what about my outlook doesnt square with facts"

But naaaa it wont happen, yall will just double down on whatever narrative youre told despite actual facts

wow your ignorance is astounding

so we replace one big tractor that uses XX fossil fuels but gets the job done in YY amount of time
with
many smaller tractors that each uses MORE ENERGY, MATERIAL (like metal, rare earth for batteries, PLASTICS) , AND MORE WASTE to make.
that will take MORE ENERGY PRODUCTION to keep "fueled" and take LONGER to achieve same work
costing the farmer MORE in energy use and MANPOWER.

all of which costs more of everything THAN THE TRACTOR IT REPLACES.

so how again is the farmer SAVING MONEY and LESS POLLUTION, WASTE, ECT ?

um i see you believe in the "technically accurate but totally irrelivant" school of commenting
along with a secondary major in "one of these things is not like the other".

with a minor in "a mustard seed of truth surrounded by a mountain of bull quano".

yes what you said is true in the US that (for the most part) we dont have a food shortage as shown by for decades we PAY FARMERS NOT TO PRODUCE so as to keep the prices at a minimum profit/level

but after that what you said HAS ZERO TO DO with the FACT EV TRACTORS CANNOT DO THE JOB THAT FOSSIL FUEL TRACTORS CAN.
not by a long shot.

do you need to review the sememe street episode "one of these things is not like the other" lesson that a FOUR YEAR OLD grasps?
