Viewed this on on another site and facebook. Appears they are going after farm equipment shortly. It will be interesting to see how the hell they are going to accomplish this one.

More messing with the food supply chain. WTH, they really want to create food scarcity don't they?

(From another site) Source on facebook -

The foolishness of it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check this out, folks--- the lefties are now going after diesel powered farm equipment and want electric tractors and combines.

A close friend farms over 10,000 acres of corn in the mid-west. The property is spread out over 3 counties. His operation is a "partnership farm" with John Deere. They use the larger farm operations as demonstration projects for promotion and development of new equipment. He recently received a phone call from his John Deere representative, and they want the farm to go to electric tractors and combines in 2023.

He currently has 5 diesel combines that cost $900,000 each that are traded in every 3 years. Also, over 10 really BIG tractors. JD wants him to go all electric soon.

He said: "Ok, I have some questions. How do I charge these combines when they are 3 counties away from the shop in the middle of a cornfield, in the middle of nowhere?" "How do I run them 24 hours a day for 10 or 12 days straight when the harvest is ready, and the weather is coming in?" "How do I get a 50,000+ lb combine that takes up the width of an entire road back to the shop 20 miles away when the battery goes dead?"

There was dead silence on the other end of the phone.

When the corn is ready to harvest, it has to have the proper sugar and moisture content. If it is too wet, it has to be put in giant dryers that burn natural or propane gas, and lots of it. Harvest time is critical because if it degrades in sugar content or quality, it can drop the value of his crop by half a million dollars or more. It is analyzed at time of sale. It is standard procedure to run these machines 10 to 12 days straight, 24 hours a day at peak harvest time. When they need fuel, a tanker truck delivers it, and the machines keep going.

John Deere's only answer is "we're working on it." They are being pushed by the lefty Dems in the government to force these electric machines on the American farmer. These people are out of control. They are messing with the production of food crops that feed people and livestock... all in the name of their "green dream." Look for the cost of your box of cornflakes to triple in the next 24 months.....

If they went to electric tractors, it would greatly increase the price of foods and it would reduce production by the farmers too. If people are that stupid to start messing with farmers when jets are flying all over in the sky burning a hundred fold the amount of fuel, then those people deserve to starve. Just hold back the food from those who want to push this kind of lunacy. The thing is that the people I know that are the most verbal about climate change are flying all over the place. No matter what fuels a car, the fuel has to be harvested...electricity is not that much more efficient environmentally wise than burning deisel fuel and gas. And the Nuclear power plants fuel creation is not environmentally friendly either. They still are not taking care of the nuclear waste properly and it destroys a lot of land to mine Uranium.

Just quit the trips for vacations....stay local and go camping and learn how to fish from a rowboat.

Question from the moron section:
Where does the electricity to charge those batteries come from and what fuel method will be used to transport said corn from field to processor?

No, no, no, no.

You cannot do any activity that advances self-reliance. What is wrong with you?

You sit on door stoop and wait for the Uncle Sugar checks to come rolling in. Then you can decide between food or medicine this month.

Dont forget they are going to push electric vehicles on the military as well.

The DNC is a tragedy on our nation at this point.

I have no problem with supplimenting Alternative Energy sources, but trying to completely replace gas and oil is absolutely stupid and shortsighted. I mean, there's being optimistic and then there's just being stupid with your head up your ass.

This is the problem with government all size fits all decrees, the bigger the government the bigger the cock up. God forbid if they get a global government the cock up will be horrendous. The useful idiots are cutting their own throats now, it is best to withdraw and let them get on with it.

look EV have severe limitations.

not to say it is an impractical tech.. far from it

but one has to use it WITHIN ITS LIMITATIONS.

for example as tugs to tow aircraft, carry luggage carts, and move basic supples around THE AIRPORT property in non snow climates.. where they can be kept on chargers when not used.. its a great idea

to have trucks bringing in fuel, supples from off site and say from airport to hotel.. not good for that at their current tech level.

delivery trucks say in Huston city prime .. good idea (unless say engines or heavy industrial supplies) .
cross country .. not

the problem is the "green energy" nuts want to push the tech and apply it when IT JUST ISNT READY.

The "force people to use it and we will work out the bugs later" aka cart before the horse mentality.

that JUST DOESNT WORK.

if they would introduce it where THE TECH IS APPLICABLE and then add more when the tech is available.
introduce it when ECONOMICALLY VIABLE..
People would embrace it.
force it down our necks

go Puck yourself

"Climate change" reasoning is just their excuse . The only reason they push this is to ensure full control when all cars become EVs and are 'rented as a service' if you have a 'good social credit score' .
And with this farming push they are also trying to further the food shortage planned agenda.
All to bring in their 'great reset' that they think the masses will be begging for

No. The masses are waking up to their evil plans as they have been pushing too hard and too fast, good keep doing that

Till we have the next jump in tech regarding batteries this is literally a dead-end technology, it's bad for the environment (strip mining to get the rare earth metals) to get a limited number of metals to make a battery that can't hold a charge long enough to be used efficiently in the military or delivery.

This isn't coming from the government, it's coming from the manufacturer. It's just them trying to push people to buy upgrade to the latest version of their product.

Greed isn't unique to the left.

You think that's bad, you should see what the UK Government are up to...

Lump sum payments for farmers in England who leave or retire from farming.

You mean the scheme where farmers who aren't handing over their land to their children are given an incentive to retire and hand their farm over to an up coming young farmers?

Land stays farm land, just with a new farmer. It's to combat Britain's aging farmers and the difficulty that young farmers find getting land.

im sorry but that idea isnt logical

tractor companies have been more than able to sell/push people to buy upgrades.

IMO it is either "encouragement" (be direct or with incentives or both) from the government , "encourgagement" from "green energy" groups, wanting to be "woke" or a combination of all three.

Replacing diesel powered equipment on farms just won't work as things are now. The same goes for a lot of other stuff, like excavators. Intercity vehicles is one thing where the infrastructure is more in place for it. Not to mention that there isn't a race for time in terms of crops to harvest.

Here in Norway, it would be just as troublesome to simply switch to electric within a year or two. Not feasable. Farmers are hard pressed enough as it is. As mentioned in the OP, the degree of moisture is important. Also worth mentioning in a northern hemisphere context is the more rapid shift towards winter climate during crop harvest. I have several friends who constantly battle with time before the snow comes. Their land is nowhere near the size as described in the OP but almost all of them work alone in addition to having jobs on the side. One thing that should also be added to the equation is the total weight of diesel vs electric tractors and combines. Think wet soil + combine batteries. So, not only will it be harder to charge, and loose effect during colder seasons, but if you get stuck in the middle of a field, what the hell will you do? Dismantle it? Yeah, that's not expensive or time consuming at all. In the meantime, the crops wither away.

Answer: Nice truck drivers deliver it.

No need to think back any further than that. Always appreciate your truck drivers.

I always thought the Right To Repair effort pointed to the real problem: Big Tech's ability to shut down American farming at will.
