So, this discussion gets hazy..
What exactly are we talking about..?
Is there anyway to use numbers and comparisons?
What lifestyle would people live at?
Rule one.. same.. this is agreed as the term communism. Everyone gets the same?
How? Using America as an example, can we calculate what we would be dividing up equally?
What would that be?
Let's use statistics!
How many steaks were sold in the USA last year divided by the number of people wanting to eat that.. what would the avg number of steaks per person per month?
How many jugs of laundry detergent?
How many trips to amusement parks?
If we shared totally like communism, how many square feet would a house be?
What income level currently would people live at?
Is there a way to honestly discuss just this aspect of it,?
No philosophical debates, just bean counting..lol

I've lived under communism socialism and capitalism in my time.
I have to say that I actually preferred socialism to capitalism because life was just simpler and easier. You didn't get nicked and dimed on everything, and we didn't have such high levels of poverty.
The housing project and rent controls kept most people off of the streets, and I got my teeth fixed on the state simply by asking for it, would have cost thousands under the US system. In fact I never needed a dental plan at all, the state system was enough for me.

Take a field trip to China or North Korea and report back.
When we don't hear back from you, will assume it's because you really really like it there, and not that you were put in a gulag.
Anyhow, as with many of the 2022 account sign ups, the odor of a propagandist is strong IMO.

I've lived in China, the standard of living is comparable to the US. It has wealthy cities and rural slums, just like America. Beijing is a carbon copy of new York in terms of wealth and of poverty.

It’s kind of cute that you think people would eat steak under communism.

I see this as a big problem. People who haven't put in any time to learn history, or understand the ramifications of really bad choices are growing up and entertaining ideas like this, based on social media or some other sales pitch.
Socialism in small doses balances out capitalism. Communism makes everyone the same. Poor. Except for the rulers, they have lots of cool stuff. And there is no incentive to work harder, because the pay is the same regardless.

The problem with communism is the rich and powerful won't be interested in giving anything up, so they will stay status quo. The rest of us will slide down into "equality" which is the bare minimum needed to survive.
we will get our purpose of living by working to enrich the state (rich and powerful class).
If we, the little people don't like it, we die. Communism sucks because greed.
