Maybe it was to cover up the fact that the New York lieutenant governor was arrested today.

I subscribe to the "2 razors"

- Occam's razor: "All things being equal, simplest explanation is the best one"
- Hanlon's razor: ""never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

I would love to have been a fly on the wall during briefings and conferences involving the mayor.

The response, as I've read the media version of it here in this thread, and the one I saw on the ground, with my own eyes, screams "in over his head".

Going to look around for any kind of statement or advisory or sign of a pulse in City Hall.

The mayor of New York was just interviewed on the CBS nightly news. He looked like a deer in the headlights. I don't think he blinked one time.

I think they would've just done what they did with the Hunter laptop story and not covered it.

It's not like liberal media spent all day on this. They moved on to other stories. Not a very effective coverup if it was supposed to be one.

Not releasing it? Really? What dumb ass excuse could they possibly have to not release it?

They likely know exactly who it is and need time to spin.

Thats my best theory

I install and repair CCTV cameras, mostly IP based now, but I know how to work on BNC cables and the technology behind CCTV systems. I don't know what goes on there, but I know how to make sure the stuff is working, and if it's not, I know how to repair it. I could even go as far as saying, I know enough to call a pro, that knows more than I do. If a bumpkin from Spiveys' Corner can handle this task, why on God's green Earth, can't the NYC government be able to maintain their camera systems? Or is the company in charge of these cameras, the same as those who were in charge of the jail cameras that were not working when Epstine "killed himself"?

The mayor of New York was just interviewed on the CBS nightly news. He looked like a deer in the headlights. I don't think he blinked one time.

From the NYPost:

“Today, one step that we’re taking is we’re going to double the number of the amount of uniformed officers there. We’re going to hold what’s considered the day tour to meet and complement the evening tour. You’re going to see double the amount of police officers.”

“This is terror,” proclaimed Adams in a separate CNN interview earlier Tuesday afternoon.

“This is terror, someone attempted to terrorize our system,” he said.

So the mayor says unequivocally "This is terror" and is going to double the amount of officers on the subway (???), in case the terrorist, goes back the way he already went? Really??

And from the same article, a statement earlier in the day from NYPD Commissioner:

NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said around noon during a press conference at the scene that the department is not investigating the incident as an act of terrorism at this time.

“An individual on that train donned what appeared to be a gas mask. He then took a canister out of his bag and opened it,” Sewell explained. “The train at that time began to fill with smoke. He then opened fire, striking multiple people on the subway and on the platform.”

GUYS. GET ON THE SAME PAGE.

Do the bad guys roll out tear gas canisters when trying a smash and grab, or do they do gang hits on subways? Not terrorism??

Why is Adams wasting valuable time going on CNN?!!? Call a press conference and get that out on EVERY MEDIA OUTLET.

Really. You have templates and playbooks for how this was done in the past. FOLLOW THEM.

Sickening how awful this response is.

Would be VERY interesting if he was.
And my brain wonders.....hmmm... and the suspects in MI in the kidnapping of the governor trial, just got off, because the jury believed the FBI entrapped them.....
Someone actually looking to dismantle, discredit the FBI?

Prolly just wishful thinking.

Slow motion break down of civil society. Typical event in Democrat run cities where crims are released without bail and cops are reduced to clean up crews.

Following this bout of inflation will be a recession. High unemployment, high prices, homelessness, all will lead to increased violent crime. Simple solutuion........stay away from US cities.

I consider the possibilities;

1) attempted assassination. shot others to hide the target. (apparently failed since no one has died yet, happily.)

2) terrorist attack. not likely or someone would be on Social Media promoting their cause.

3) practice run for terrorist attack. that makes a little more sense. not a happy thought though.
(IIRC there was a gas attack in a subway in Japan years ago. really horrific.)

4) lone Joker-wannabe nut. as we discuss this he's sitting in his lair watching everybody talk about him and planning his next op. not a happy thought.

I figure a nut.

It's not like he'll get any jail time. Apparently he wouldn't even have to pay bail. He just wanted to do criminal stuff to harm people.

Yay democrats!

Oh...I stopped paying attention to all the news outlets after 11am. MSNBC kept focusing on how a GUN committed so much violence. FOXNEWS kept focusing on how Liberal Cesspools continue deteriorating. Surprisingly, CNN was the most balanced. They raked NYC Mayor Adams over the coals while he's at home recovering from Covid.

CNN: "Mr Mayor, crime is up 73% in New York City. You're a former Cop who campaigned specifically on reducing crime. Why aren't you making progress in keeping your promise?"

Adams: "I'm trying really hard. The problem is ALL OF AMERICA is seeing crime increase!"

They don't want to repair the CCTV system because it would show more crimes and look bad for the NYC subway system.
If they showed crimes as they happened, they could get a police response faster to the stations from the surface petrol officers and have officers scanning the people leaving the stations that match the suspect's description.
This is a conspiracy to not protect the public by higher ups in the NYC government.
If they don't try to protect the public, they can enact new laws that do nothing to stop crime but are targeted at controlling the people even in other states. like gun laws.

BBC UK

Police said they were looking for Frank R James, 62, in connection with the attack as he had rented a U-Haul van that may be linked to the shooting.

The key was found at the subway crime scene.

"We are looking to determine if he has any connection to the train," NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig said.

It could have been a Ghost Glock because it malfunctioned. I'll have to consult with the expert, Joe Biden.
