I don't think a professional would've shot 10 people and not manage to kill anybody.

This just sounds like a mass shooter, with unknown motivations as of yet. If his motives were political, he's a terrorist.

Crime is rampant in this country. I don't think a conspiracy theory is needed for every mass shooting. It's not like it's hard to imagine one of our many mentally unstable criminals just wanted to kill a bunch of people.

Why the hell do the thirty people who are not injured get off the train & hang around, when it's supposedly an active shooter scene? And yes, the Chinese dudes are definitely posing - they stand, look first one way, then turn around, as if gauging the location of the photographers, before lying down on the floor.

I posit that the thirty people who just inexplicably hang around in a potential murder scene, are doing so because they are crisis actors. They are padding out the scene, so it looks more chaotic. #ing unbelievable that they keep playing this same card. Clown world.

The NYC mayor is giving an interview on CNN.

Shouldn't he be giving a press conference so his message gets out to more people than CNN's audience?

Especially given how much CNN's viewership has declined.

ETA: Oh, that's why. They're talking about gun control, not the #ing ongoing scene going on in his city right now.

So what is a "traditional gunshot sound"? The sound can vary because of the type of weapon, the type of ammunition, the type of ammunition load, the weather and the environment. I can load 9mm so that it makes a noise that might be mistaken for a hard hand clap. It's not going to do much damage outside of 50 feet, but, it's not meant to.

But your professional guidelines are to reach your next destination unless it's essential to do otherwise. I assume your superiors didn't expect you to engage with an armed assailant as part of your operational duties but rather to summon law enforcement as any other semi cognizant citizen would.

There's a few interesting elements to the situation, racial implications really isn't one of them. But that could change if/when the suspect is apprehended and gives a statement to the police.

One of my favorite experiences as a kid, was when the Engineer of the Calaveras Cement train, put me in the drivers seat, gave me instructions on speed control, and different toots for different crossings. He then stood with the other men chatting. He would check my speed every once ion awhile. I drove that train, fully loaded with cement mix powder, all the way down from the mountains. It was a blast! I kind of doubt that they would allow a kid to drive a train now days..

Something doesn't sit right with this - 10 shot no deaths a lot of drama gas mask , smoke . It's like he went out of his way not to kill shooting in the legs etc...

Could this be a distraction event to bring the law enforcement to one place so that they can stage another event in a different area .

Is there any big plans for Easter in the area ?

I heard at least one report that someone was shot in the head, so he didn't shoot everyone in the legs. It's unusual for 10 shot to all survive but not suspicious in and of itself.

It is indeed a terrorist tactic to do this. However, even if this was the motive, why wouldn't you want to kill some of the victims at this first location? Seems counterintuitive.

Now they're reporting the perp's gun jammed.
