According to a Danish soldier in Ukraine, the Ukrainian army is killing captured Russians, in violation of the laws of war. The soldier, Jonas, traveled to Ukraine and joined the army there. “People are being killed,” Jonas told Danish TV 2, which has confirmed that he is in Ukraine and part of the Ukrainian army. The soldier said he spoke to a number of captured Russian soldiers while they were still alive. For example, he spoke to a barely 18-year-old Russian who said that he worked in Russia as a computer programmer. “The next morning he was buried,” Jonas said.

TV 2 points out that the Special Operations Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced in early March that it would no longer show mercy, but would "slaughter like pigs" anyone who contributes to bombing civilians. POWs are officially protected persons. It is not allowed to carry out executions without a trial. A prisoner of war can in principle be brought to trial and sentenced to death, but the death penalty has been abolished in almost all European countries. Once soldiers have laid down their arms and are captured, they must be spared under international law.

Earlier, the Ukrainians published photos of Russian prisoners of war, which is also in violation of the laws of war. At the end of last month, a video in which Russian soldiers are shot in the knees by Ukrainian troops caused a stir. There are also images circulating of Russian soldiers being shot in the head after being captured. The images have been verified by the New York Times.

I think both sides are pissing against the wind and commit horrible things.

Organized military forces are far less likely to commit atrocities. I've yet to see anything more than unsubstantiated claims against the Russians.

The quote that the Time validated the shootings is hilarious. There was no denying exactly what could be 'seen' in that video. The Russian POW's death rattle after being shot three times ... followed by the coup de grâce ...

If the Russians gave no quarter to The Ukrainians after that ... well ... again ... I could understand. I don't think I could encourage such behavior, but The Ukrainians have asked for it now.

Well Ukraine and the Simpsons did it first. While Russia held them all in a room tied facing a wall like children on time out. I saw Russian soldiers being pulled out of transport then shot in the head by ukraines weeks ago. Even though they were tied up and unarmed. So as the saying goes. What goes around comes around.

Treat your captives how you want your men treated. Russia was doing that for the longest time til Ukraine literally dragged people out of trucks and point blank executed them before their feet touched the ground.

The ukraines did more then just execute. They shot out captive knee caps, beat them and violated them with their guns. If you want me to be more grim and descriptive read the next line; ain't nothing like having a gun shoved up your ass and fired for giggles. Those are true hate crimes..

Honestly, ukraines have commit worse war crimes. Including using tourist as shields, and shooting everyone who fled on sight. (As is Ukrainian law - if you can hold a gun, and are male 16+ you fight or die - this is common law on these countries. Many of those civilian men and children were executed for wanting to flee with their families.).

Almost all of ukraines army is untrained civilians, led by maybe about 4-500 actual soldiers. When untrained civilians use cocktails, bombs and weapons. They can't worry about the casualties. So they just blame the enemy.

So I hope Russia stops trying to be "friendly". Show the world they no longer give a # since everyone has their minds made up and just ends it quick instead of being careful to avoid civilians at this point, as all non-combat civilians are all long gone.

Russia was judged as uncaring with prior lies spread by Ukraine. Might as well act the part especially since Ukraine is breaking the rules of surrender anyway.

You can't back a country who cries "war crimes" only to be doing that themselves. Pretty much everything Russia has been accused of Ukraine was already doing. After all how do you think zelenski knows from his house in Florida and a green screen behind him.

At this point I don't blame Putin, the world sees him as a Monster. I think he just needs to man up and play the part and be done with it. Just like covid - there's no changing the majorities minds on anything. (He'll look at china as proof). Either way, he will more then likely be executed by the end of the year. Because his country didn't surrender to NATO in 98. As someone we back and support will bend the knee for Russia. Just like we did in MANY nations across the globe.

He knows it's coming, he is not wrong. We are a nation of mercenaries who go to the highest bidder, or as long as it furthers the political agenda of those at the white house.

I choose no sides, but I will defend Russia as needed. After all most these other people are literally controlled and don't see things from both sides.

Tip: if you went out and stock piled (aka bought more of anything then you normally do) you are under the influence of media.

If you live alone and wear a mask in your home or car at any time. You are being controlled.

If you ran and got the vaccine in the first 3 months of it being available with no data actually breleased you are being controlled.

If your enraged and pissed at Russia alone, and actually see Putin as a dictator instead of a Democrat you are being controlled. He leans more towards heirachy but he is definitely a Democrat, he always has been. He actually brought women's rights, and equality to Russia long before it became "woke" and the "right thing".

He is giving money to every woman with children, so they have food on their table. (Meanwhile we pay people to be black, transgender or gay..). So who is realistically the better leader here?

Ukraine apparently begs for the war to end and crap to cease while begging for handouts of weapons. You can't have it both ways. You want peace meet in a country that remained neutral. And box the crap out of each other til ya both collapse then go have a nice meal and talk it out. Don't beg the world for weapons.

Absolute nonsense, there is zero doubt that russian soldiers have been using cluster and vacuum munitions on civilians on a pretty regular basis, your propaganda horse left the barn a long time ago.

Nice rant, but russia's duds planted themselves in residential and civilian streets, and those duds included both cluster and vacuum munitions.

The live rounds that did detonate left unmistakable evidence of their use in more than a few cities.

There is zero doubt, and hasn't been for quite some time.

That horse is a thousand miles away by now.
