Our GIS dept. uses ArcGIS Drone2Map and Site Survey. There are a handful of extensions that came with the ArcGIS package. They may have different software as well, but those are two Im aware of.

If you were able to get a handful of flights in a week. Just kept stabbing at flying Arco only. Id say 6 months to a year you could start pulling off some fun stuff without the risk of crashing.

Dont be afraid to crash tho. As soon as you get that mentality out of your head, you'll start flying with more confidence. Crashes happen, its part of the hobby and learning process!

I see that really is quite a synergy. I'm just about to realize I won't be able to circumvent some basic knowledge about the software of my drones, as the fine-tuning trough software seems to bring the best out of your drones. I'm a little
IT-phobic to be honest. But I know when I put my mind to it, I will get a hang of it.

You ever thought about filming your receiver while flying, so one could maybe see what movements you do to get your drone to do these crazy things?

Ahh.
I use Drone Deploy and Pix4d for all photogrammetry.

But im new to thermal and lidar processing.

Drone Deploy has an add on im getting for thermal processing.

I just need to find a good user friendly lidar processing software.

They call that "stick cams". Where its just a small inlay of the radio so you can match up the flight with the stick movements like you said.

Ill see if I can finagle it into a video. Keep an eye out!
