Blaming international shipping / containers is a much more likely explanation.
A woman says she found an egg sac full of deadly spiders on some bananas she had recently purchased from a grocery store. While no one was hurt in the incident, her home reportedly needs to be sealed and fumigated for two weeks to make sure none of the deadly arachnids are still lingering around.
Nancy Hinkle, another entomologist at the University of Georgia, said Joros help suppress mosquitoes and biting flies and are one of the few spiders that will catch and eat brown marmorated stink bugs, which are serious pests to many crops.
“This is wonderful. This is exciting. Spiders are our friends,” she said. “They are out there catching all the pests we don’t want around our home.”

They aren't bad at all and don't have fangs that could penetrate human skin. Their webs are something else we had them here in Georgia a while back,

Not a lot of people know that the "Daddy Long legs" is extremely poisonous but their fangs are to small to bite us .
"Daddy-Longlegs are one of the most poisonous spiders, but their fangs are too short to bite humans"
You've probably heard this playground legend: Daddy longlegs are the most venomous spiders in the world, but their fangs are too short to bite you. Is this really true?
A daddy longlegs, also known as a cellar spider. Are they really the most venomous spiders in the world?
The short answer: no. But to reach that answer, we're going to have to get a few things straight.
"First, what are you calling a daddy longlegs?" said Rick Vetter, a retired research associate of entomology at the University of California, Riverside. Vetter has been busting this particular myth for years.
The problem is that the term "daddy longlegs" is used colloquially to refer to at least three different animals, only one of which is a true spider.edit on 11-3-2022 by putnam6 because: (no reason given)

Spiders don't scare me too much, I've been keeping tarantulas for 30 years. One time though, a friend who worked at a grocery chain here, called me up, said come by the store. I go there and he hands me a deli cup, containing the type of spider in your story..Brazilian Wandering Spider. It was found in..a crate of bananas!
So, I put in a tank, interesting critter, it's eyes reflected light like a cat, very aggressive at feeding time. Well a week later, it has laid an egg sac..hmmm, this might get interesting, but really, I figured it might be infertile. Over the next few weeks, 2 more egg sacks. Ok, lets see.
A month later, I'm at work, my boss hands me the phone, its the wife, she says you need to get your ass home..NOW! So, apparently the egg sacs were viable I rush home, she is in her wheelchair, rolling back and forth on the kitchen floor, running over these baby spiders, about the size of a pinhead. It was kinda funny, but at the same time..better get this cleaned up. Got it cleaned up, and decided, this spider would be better suited somewhere else..I think it, and the 2 remaining egg sacs ended up at the Vancouver Aquarium, with Rick West. The only time I have thought twice about a spider.
