Ok, this is going to sound a little "out there," but has anyone else noticed a significant increase in people just not being around, not being reachable, kind of just non-existent?
Yes, I'm one of them.
Since lockdowns, I have been in my element but I am not a "normie" by any standards so no surprises there.
What I have discovered is that many people are afraid to speak with a voice and will rely on messaging and emails and indirect communication only.
I put it down to a transition to controlled Cyborgs using mobiles habitually because of Covid as it doesn't involve GIVING attention by making a telephone call or going to see someone for a chat but involves the EXPECTATION of attention with minimal investment first.
People have become more insecure me thinks.
Smartphones are the smartest thing about most dumb people these days.
Dumbphones are the smartest thing about most smart people these days.
If I could respond with my voice, I would.
"Hello Caled, hope you're good. Be well and stay JUST this side of sane."

We are never going to get rid of this virus if we don't stop all this masking and quarantining... I'm hearing of a friend testing positive and quarantining for 10 DAYS right now.... We need real education on immunology!

I had firsthand experience with this nonsense today. My boss, who is double-vaxxed and boosted recently recovered from covid. It wasn't severe, but not mild either. Her advice for the team? "Be sure to get your boosters, you don't want to go through what I went through."
WTF? Here is the translation: "I followed all the main-stream advice to the hilt and still got covid and it sucked. So be sure to follow all the main-stream advice so you won't get it too."
It make zero sense. This is an otherwise pretty smart person. All these people have lost the ability to reason and draw conclusions. Makes me question the future of humanity. As far as I know, I'm the only one on the team who hasn't been jabbed.
Editorās Note: The Surface Transportation Board is conducting an in-person hearing April 26-27 (EP 770, Urgent Issues in Freight Rail Service) with the CEOs of the āBig Fourā Class I railroadsāBNSF, CSX, Norfolk Southern and Union Pacificāon service problems. Class I locomotive engineer Matthew DeLay, without identifying his employer, sent this letter to STB Chairman Marty Oberman on April 19 as commentary for the hearing.
Derailments of monster trains have become so frequent, that in my little section of the U.S. economy (although a major artery) it has become a blur. It is hard to keep them straight. By last summer, 2021, I thought CNN would just keep a helicopter out here, dedicated to the State of Iowa alone for aerials of the most recent spectacle. And just two weeks back, March 2022, one monster train, eastbound, derailed into a westbound train on adjacent track! Fate had it that both crews were ok. Yet: Is counting on miracles a valid operating model?

I had a really weird experience today that I can't explain... so I thought I'd better audit trail it.
I wear a silver plated crucifix, on a silver necklace chain. The crucifix was a christening gift from my recently deceased uncle - a Dominican Friar.
It's quite heavy and about 5 inches long by 3 inches wide - usually it settles firmly in the middle of my chest against my sternum.
This evening it started moving 45 degrees at a diagonal to my right breast. I didn't think much of it and went on my weekly trip to the supermarket. All the way round the supermarket this crucifix kept moving back to the 45 degree angle... I would move it back to my sternum and 30 seconds later it would back to 45 degrees. Even when I was at a body position where it would be unnatural for the crucifix to move in that angle, it still did it.
By the time I'd got home it had stopped... weird.
For clarity I have not had any of the vaccinations and have never had a PCR/Lateral flow test.
