Croat, first let me say shame on you for resorting to petty name-calling. That and spelling "moron" wrong. That being said,

This whole argument about "God doesn' exist because where did he come from?" is irrelevant. I believe in God. One of the reasons I believe in God is because of the creation of the universe. Science only goes so far back before it hits a wall. The laws of science dictate that something can't come from nothing, but it obviously did. That's in a way proof of God in its own. The fact is we don't know where God came from, and we will probably never know until we are dead. That's the point! God's intelligence goes way beyond our comprehension as humans.

Black guard I am from Dalmatia. Im from one of the many dalmatian islands. Also the dalmatian dog is originally from Croatia.

Dalmatia (Croatian Dalmacija, Italian Dalmazia, Serbian Далмација) is a region of Croatia on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, spreading between the island of Pag in the northwest and the Bay of Kotor in the southeast. The inner Dalmatia (Dalmatinska Zagora) stretches from up to fifty kilometers inland in the north to just a few kilometers in the south.

Dalmatia is currently composed of four counties, capital cities of which are Zadar, Šibenik, Split and Dubrovnik. Other larger cities in Dalmatia include Kaštela, Sinj, Solin, Omiš, Knin, Metković, Makarska, Trogir, Ploče, Trilj and Imotski.

The larger Dalmatian islands are Dugi Otok, Ugljan, Pašman, Brač, Hvar, Korčula, Vis, Lastovo and Mljet. The larger Dalmatian mountains are Dinara, Mosor, Kozjak and Biokovo. The rivers are Zrmanja, Krka, Cetina and Neretva.

Due to the way sea currents flow and how the winds blow on the Adriatic, the sea water is much cleaner and much warmer than it is on the Italian side. The Dalmatian concordant coastline also includes an immense number of coves, islands and channels. This makes it a really attractive place for nautical races, and nautical tourism in general. There's a fair number of marinas as well.

Dalmatia also includes several national parks that are tourist attractions in their own right: Paklenica karst river, Kornati archipelago, Krka river rapids and Mljet island within island.

And not to neglect the topic, if God exists, and is beyond comprehension, then discussing this any further is pointless. If God doesn't exist, ditto.

Yep BlackGuardXIII That pretty much sums it up. Except you forgot to mention how there are 1,185 islands. And those are just the ones they count.

Oh and ah the topic. If theres no God how do you explain all the visions of Mary the mother of Jesus?

Well, regarding the visions of Mary, I do not think that they are all credible, but I believe some indeed are. My explanation of how they can be without God? I do believe in angels, in fact, so I would say one possibility is that these visions are of an angel, possibly known by many names, Mary being one of them, Isis may be another.... I honestly don't know. I do not discount the existence of God, I only state that I do not believe in a religion specific God, nor have I seen anything that has convinced me there is any type of God. My guess would be, God is Mother Earth, Mother Nature, if I was forced to choose.

Well BlackGuardXIII I believe the one of Medjugorije are credible. Evan though the catholic church has not given an official ruling on it. The pope( God rest his soul) was a huge supporter of it, but there were people within the church who do not. Not sure why though. Maybe its the whole anti-christ thing. The story of Medjugorije. Go there. Read and learn of the miracles. Intersting thing is the serbs declared war on the tenth anniversary of her visit.

I enjoyed checking out that site, and with so many events, and so many witnesses, it is a compelling account that I would not argue against. There are so many miraculous things that happen all the time, I often wonder why so many people are so easily able to dismiss them? The sheer number of them alone is a hard thing to explain away.

Yes it is very amazing. I just cant understand why the catholic church wont official recognize it like I said earlier. It seems like theyll just keep their position on it for about the next 50 years. Which is neither deniying or recognizing it. If only the pope could have made them recognize it b4 his passing. He was all for it.

I went into the archives and read some of John Paul II's speeches when he visited, and they were very positive. He clearly held the miracle very dear. And even just this past weekend, in his final farewell, he mentions putting his trust in the Virgin Mary.
May He Rest in Peace

But dosnt that mean that people belived in souls because they didnt understand how the brain works (we still dont) ? As we come to understand more and more how the brain works we will no longer need the "soul."

What are you hoping to achieve with this thread? Do you honestly believe that you are going to change people's minds with such a blatent attack on their most sacred beliefs?

I love when people say I should stop smoking because it is bad for my health. No, really!?! Bad for my health you say? I'll quit right now and thank you so much for the tip. I would like to beat the hell out of these morons. No sh1t it's bad for my health! However I do it anyway because it comforts me. What concern is my life and the way I live it of yours? It isn't! If you are content and confident with your beliefs then live them out and let other people do the same. It is the herd mentality that seems so popular. It is people that need the reassurance of others in order to believe what it is that they believe has validity. There are NO Neos here, no messiahs or saviors that are going to 'wake us all up from our delusions'. We have grown confortable with those delusions which help us get through this supposed reality. Live your deluted idea of reality and let others live theirs because NONE of us has all the answers, but our one comminality is that we are all fooling ourselfs in someway.

And in closing, the next idiot that attempts to enlighten me as to the dangers of smoking is going to discover exactly how dangerous a cigarette can be when I put it out in their eye.

Wow, I feel a little better now!

Jonna, listen... I just wanna say something, ok? u should stop smoking, cause not only is it bad, but u could die fom it. now, I expect you to never smoke again cause now u no the truth. hahahaha

Hey I really dont know where the soul is in the body, or if it is evan in one spot I just think its in my head because well thats where I think! Without a soul how could we be living at all?

If I may as so bold as to inject something into this thread?

Firstly, we are surrounded by limits. We are born (start) we die (stop)
A person's senses are limited.
Gravity dictates.
However, the imagination is only bound by our beliefs and our fears.
God, your god, my god, all of our gods are a leap of faith, we hope and aspire
that we will run this race and be rewarded for it.
The God that exists for everybody, I mean the one that you personally believe in, is eternal. We cannot understand what is eternal is because of our knowledge of limits and the laws of nature on this planet.
As we move on into the future, we will learn more and more about God's universe and the wonders that adorns it.

Remember, you cannot presume to understand God's plan, we can only have faith that we will try our best.
Oh, centuries ago, surgeons cut open the body looking for the soul, they never found it!
What did they think? that it was hidden like Peter Pan's shadow?!

Onward.

Beautifully said, IronMan.

I also agree with him. We are bound by limits, and cannot understand anything else due to that.

Like my caveman/computer example I said like 10 posts ago.

Croat56 How do we live without a soul? Well our lungs breath in air our heart beats without mythical intervention.
