Sooo, he shot up his own vehicle? Bullets were found inside. You do not believe the cops matched the weapon to the guys who were arrested?

Did they even find the bullets, or did they just find the holes?

The vehicle he was driving — as well as some packages — reportedly bore tell-tale evidence of bullet holes, according to an account and photos provided by Gibson to the Free Press.

lawandcrime.com... en-he-reported-the-incident/

I don't know.

Also, I'm not trying to say that I think the driver could have been in 'cahoots', but rather just pointing out that you may have made an assumption that might not be accurate.

This, to me, is another case of why run? When people run they 'become' more suspicious.

There is nothing suspicious in fleeing such a situation.

If someone in a pickup tries do drive me off the road, honks at me for no apparent reason and tries to overtake me by all means to make me stop... and I see someone aiming a gun at me three houses down the road after that...and shooting at me...

I would go down a gear or two and floor it too while calling my contact person to be ready for GPS coordinate submitting when the cops call in a minute. And then the police give them a description what is happening, the truck details, the rough location and heading and give them the number to my contact person to provide them with live details where I am.

Might have to do a evading U or J turn or similar and no time to call police again. I will stop when the guy is gone or I see police lights in my mirror. Your suggestion about it being suspicious is just a phrase taken out of context.

Daily Mail

This article, which the first article linked to, also showed the same picture of the bullet.
www.mississippifreepress.org...

You'd think they would've mentioned that in the first article, too.

eta: I just noticed that MississippiFreePress article also made sure to point out in the title who was black and who was white... and so did TheDailyMail...

Didn't say there were no shots.

He should and could have stopped.

Boo-hoo he wasn't paid...why? Because someone shot at him??? Really? That makes no sense.

Never said it was a hoax...unless you admit Smollett was? I said it had a vibe of all the information is not here.

I'm still curious why he is supposed to stop when armed men demand it. I sure wouldn't.

My point was why would he be in cahoots to pull a hoax, as I said he had no financial gain in this past month.

Smollet was a hoax and from the minute I heard it I didn't buy it. Although I thought a Grindr date went bad initially. That he was out at 3am for sex. So I was wrong, yet knew the story was false.

Because that is the smart choice....I bet Aubrey would be alive if he had....stopped and just talked to them. What is the harm??? That is normal interaction.

Why would the driver even have to try and prove his version of the events? Don't all of these companies have dashcams by now?

It looks like FEDEX had him driving a Hertz truck. There might not have been a dashcam in it.

I would have stopped. No shots would have been fired. Instead he tries to get away during a tense situation and it escalated.

I wouldn't have stopped for them. I have zero obligation to stop for anyone who is not law enforcement. And like I said before, I would have driven over the guy if he was in the middle of the road and pointing a gun at me. And with shots being fired like they were, I guarantee you that I would have returned fire.

I hope these goons lose their house and all of their assets in a civil suit.

Why speed away? You talk so tough and about rights but...What happened to conversation?

Are you honestly stating that if the driver stopped he would have been shot?

Ahhh...so nice. I did not say I teach my daughters what I would do as an employee of a delivery service.Real Classy. If I had his job I would be armed just in case I encountered people who wanted to rob me but that was not what happened here. There was no threat and if you think there was like another poster stated go grow a set.

If he took 2 minutes to talk to those men the MSM would not have 2 weeks of

BLACK MAN ASSAULTED BY WHITE MEN!!!!

i would have hit the gas and ran him over and hid behind the steering column/engine

if someone is actively shooting at you and hitting the car/truck you in use your car to defend yourself.

We have to agree to disagree. Any delivery driver, AC repair man, etc should not stop for armed men trying to prohibit his or her movement.

If they wanted to chat, stand on the side of the road and wave and indicate you want to speak. That is conversation. Blocking my way armed, is a threat.

did you look at the people shooting? they look like crazy homeless people

if anyone other than a cop is telling me to stop waving a gun at me doesnt get out of the way they will be road pizza

i fear for your safety, this day and age you never know who that other person is and what their intentions are, and if they are waving a gun around....no way I'm stopping and you shouldn't either

don't engage angry people, if a grown man is chasing you popping shots off they dont want to talk.

you obviously have never been in a situation where you run into someone who has bad intentions for your future

call the police and get out of there, what would you do if you stop roll down the window and they stick a gun in your face?

you going to just talk it out?

get real.

on one hand, I agree with you that I definitely would not have stopped my vehicle for either of them.

did you look at the people shooting? they look like crazy homeless people

on the other hand, just because they have facial hair doesn't mean they are either crazy or homeless.

It looks like FEDEX had him driving a Hertz truck. There might not have been a dashcam in it.

If that's true, then that makes it seem even much more unusual that these guys would have called the FedEx dispatcher to report a suspicious person....

That part's got me confused. I must be missing something.

I think another article, maybe the daily mail or another one I read, clarified it as "police dispatcher".

My neighbor is in his late 60's. Retired Master Chief USN. He almost shot a
UberEats driver that drove into his driveway be accident. It was only 8:30 at night.
People are protective of their property.

In preparation to shoot anyone inside a car driving in your driveway
is complete and utter paranoia.

I think your neighbor needs hand gun training. He'd then come to the
understanding that you can't shoot people that have not displayed actions
of an immediate threat to him or his family.

I served in the Military too, and most vets I associate with are more
level headed. This pull your gun out at every occasion
like a Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry movie needs to stop.
