What are Republicans today? Do they even know?

I was Republican for 40+ years -- then the Neo-Con Right took over, and it just got worse from there.

I still consider myself "social liberal, fiscal conservative" -- very supportive of equality in all areas -- but not continued free hand outs.

"Hand Ups" - Yes -- "Hand Outs" -- No. "That which is not earned has no value"

Left brain right brain dynamic. That's how society is supposed to work. People good at math do money stuff, people good at community values do social stuff. The imbalance of one hemisphere dominating the other has never succeeded for very long.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell two days ago, discussing the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol:

“It was a violent insurrection for the purpose of trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election from one administration to the next,”

''Both wings of the same bird. Until the vast majority realizes that this is not a people problem. This is a 1% globalist elite taking control of everything and their dire interest in getting rid of most of the regular people. They say the people use too many resources, while they take the natural resources and engorge themselves on it and what do the people get?

This is why they need the division to keep going. And they have been so corrupt, that they must ramp up the division to new levels. Their cover is failing and the people are realizing we are not each other's enemies. Our enemies are the 1% who have this idea they are Entitled to RULE over you. The politicians in America have forgotten whence they came and that they are SERVANTS, not RULERS. they hang around Putin, Xi, and want the same power here.

Right now, the general public is playing along exactly according to the textbook on controlling populations. They keep the public divided and focused on ridiculous narratives. And they fall right into the trap every time. The media are now losing control, the elite are spooked, and there are cracks in the dam!

I am aware of that.

Ever been part of a committee? There's 2, maybe 3 people that take charge -- the rest are mostly bitching lemmings.

But it is a people problem.

Unless you have a dictatorship -- and even then.

I think you're asking the wrong question.

The correct question is what are we gonna do about the crooked Uni-Party.

Agreed. Establishment politicians of both parties unite on key issues, from surviellance to war and covid.

Generally speaking...

Republicans tend to take more right leaning positions on a variety of topics. Low taxes, secure borders, less regulation, individuals over groups, etc

Democrats tend to take more left positions based in group identity. Notice ever Democrat position is about a particular grievance group. Open borders, Unions, Victims, Groups, High taxes.

Of course, it is a bit more complicated when you drill down to specific issues as many Republicans can support liberal positions. Recall many RINOs were all for open borders until Trump came on the scene.

There is a Uniparty apparatus where Republicans and Democrats can work hand in hand like WWE wrestlers... enemies in the media, but actually co-workers and best buds behind the scenes.

4/5 of any committee is there to function as a "bridge" between the problem finders and the problem solvers while 4/5 of the cumulative staff are human shields. Guess where the republicans are.

McConnell is a RINO. He is not part of the Trump wing or even the TEA Party movement.

The republican party is split, much like the Democrat party between Pelosi / Schumer and the AOC type leftists.

If only the republicans would in fact return to their tea party roots.

The RINOs corrupted the TEA party too.

We have some good Republicans in office but until McConnell et all are out of the way not much will get done imho. It just slows down the left wing dominance.

Mostly they'd be the ones in charge.

I'm always getting lambasted for being Liberal -- but I'm really not -- except on some issues social/equality.

Oh, I'd say years before that.

I'm 75 -- have had many years to watch the evolvement.

What are Republicans right about?

Many -- not all -- Republicans are right that the 2020 election was wrought with bad behavior, from violations of policy and procedure to violations of law, some criminal.

The election was too tainted and compromised to be certifiable and Joe Biden is an illegitimate president (at best).

So anyways to my question in the title, What are Republicans right about?

Define what you mean by 'Republicans'. Which Republican?

If you mean the official Republican Party platform, I could maybe provide some answers as is, otherwise the question fails to understand that there are differences between Marjorie Taylor Greene and Liz Cheney, or Ron Johnson and Lyndsey Graham or (and especially) Mitch McConnell.

Critical race theory is racist.
Socialism will destroy America.
Women should be racing women not 'women' born with a penis.
Police should not be defended.
The founding fathers should not be cancelled.
Free speech is not evil and racist.
It's actually ok to be white, or a man, you don't need to hate yourself if you are. It's also ok if you aren't.
We need borders.
It's wrong for the PotUS to admit his executive order is illegal but do it anyway.

There's plenty more, that's enough to start it off.
