Is this the Worst Winter Olympics or What?

I love love love the olympics, the winter olympics the summer olympics, old clips of the olympics.
Love everything about it. I wanted to be an olympian when I was a child, too bad I had no athletic gifts! ha.

I started watching the Olympics and it is absolutely depressing. There is no spark whatsoever. NO SPARK!
There is no excitement.
The athletes seem different too. I know this is during Covid and they are under weird circumstances over there.
It's so sad.
I watched some of the mens figure skating, thinking OK, I know I'm going to see something there. NOPE, NADA.
Where are the souls, where is the lifesource? Something is seriously missing. 🙁

I find them immensely boring all the time. Maybe if they combined hockey, the one with skiing/shooting and the broom sport into one giant battle royal I might watch. But it has to be like Thunderdome, only one person can be left alive.

In my opinion the winter Olympics is often hugely boring because the majority of the TV coverage seems to be Hockey, Figure Skating, and a few Olympics we had speed skating due to some higher profile athletes. A lot of the cool events seem to get very little coverage. The games only run so often I want to see luge, bobsled, ski jump etc.

I haven't watched one minute this year but prior years have really turned me off due to the inadequate coverage of what I would enjoy seeing. Also, the ski jump area I saw on some pictures is laughable with the industrial background setting and the artificial snow jump area. The winter Olympics need to be in the mountains in a an actual alpine area and not a made up temporary event area.

In the biathlon the need to replace the targets with politicians.

Watching time delayed sports that are already completed half a day ago takes the thrill out of it. Not much we can do about that.

Jut watched the double luge, never seen that before you certainly have to be friendly with your partner (a little to close for my liking), watched the snowboard cross, the skiing big air which was simply amazing, watched the snowboard half pipe with the GOAT Shaun White

Not to be contrary, but China has been doing almost all of those things for hundreds of years. (Not Social credit)
The last Olympics in China was fantastic, all those same things were happening.
There is something really different.

It is horrible looking. My husband and I said the exact same thing.
My daughter won't watch the olympics with me because every time a Chinese or Russian athlete falls down I say "Grandma's Dead". She thinks it's rude, I told her it's probably reality.

I don’t know what is going on with the food. China is known for its unbelievably diverse food. My guess from looking at it is their interpretation of what Russian/or Western food is.
Just like when I go to Panda Express and say WTF!

Pelosi did warn the US athletes not to criticize or anger the Chinese, as we likely wouldn't be able to save them. They may not have to do a darn thing to experience the negative kind of 'hospitality' the Chinese government is famous for.
